This place has become so much more then a Pizza joint over the years with so much stuff on the menu I need to try. It also looks as if they've expanded the dinning area since I last ate in. Friendly staff, clean, good service and good food, what more can you ask for in a place to eat. They are also pretty accommodating without the attitude. Some places when you ask them to add / subtract stuff from their "special recipe pizzas" or cutting it into more / less slices or any reasonable requests like they kinda get an attitude about it. There are many sandwiches and pastas I need / have yet to try but the pizza here is just so good that Im just drawn into it like a fly to a bug zapper. TIP, the meter maids seem to always be around during the day so careful with the double parking and parking in "other spots". There is a Wells Fargo a block away you can park at after 6 when they close and their security guard in the parking lot is gone and during the day there is a Chase across the street you can park at quickly and pop out. Mind you this is for pick up only, if your dining in you gotta just drive the rounds till you find a spot.

This review is for delivery and not dine-in. This also does not reflect the wonderful delivery people, they work hard and they are always friendly and great to deal with. My problem is why there is a lack of consistency with your food. The first five times I ordered from you were fantastic. I loved the quality of the food! The pizza was wonderful, but lately the product has been downright pathetic and nasty. The last time we ordered should have been a sign of things to come. The pizza was barely warm and not so good, but we thought it was just a limited experience. Then we ordered pizzas tonight. . . they were so gross I threw them out after sampling a slice from both and ordered from another pizza place. The worst pizza was the Di Bufala's Pizza which had a crust that was so overdone it was like biting into shoe leather. The toppings were soggy as if the water was not drained (or they are frozen veggies instead of fresh veggies). There was barely any sauce under the toppings. Regardless, it was disgusting and not worthy of consumption. The other pizza suffered the same problem with the crust and the toppings, however this pizza was not even warm when we got it. I had to warm it up in the oven before sampling it just to find out it was equally disgusting. I don't appreciate spending 60 dollars on pizza to get garbage!!! If I wanted that quality I would order from Domino's!!! I won't be ordering from you again. Your food has gone downhill and I don't enjoy eating second rate crap.

Hands down the best cheese slice I have had in SF. They use a buffalo cheese and there is a generous amount of it on my slice. The dough is right there on par with the Brooklyn kind and being a native Broomlynite I feel that I am qualified to say that. Will definitely be satisfying future pizza cravings here. Wish that I found this fine pizza establishment sooner.

Great place, great people, great food! We were trying to decide where to have our wedding rehearsal dinner (for about 25 adults, 3 kids) and decided to go to Mozzarella Di Bufala largely because of the location, the great private party room, and because I love their pizzas. I had eaten there many times before and loved it but having food produced for a large party is a whole different animal. They absolutely nailed it! things of note: 1) They are prompt and on time: One of the hardest things to do is get a restaurant to have food ready for a fairly large party on time. These guys had it hot and ready down to the minute! Hungry guests came marching in to the aroma of pizzas (Cuore pizza is perfect, Di Bufala disappeared the fastest, I love the Ricotta combo pizza), fresh salads (spinach bacon salad is great!), and excellent pastas (Chicken marsala with pasta has GREAT flavor). 2) The staff is super friendly: It's hard to serve a big group and let's be honest, big groups are probably pretty irritating to a wait staff. Jade and Andrew served us that night and they are OUTSTANDING. They both are so willing to do what it takes to make the experience enjoyable! They are flexible, patient, and helpful and all with a smile on their face! It's fun to support a local restaurant and really feel like it's a local restaurant because the staff is so personable and down to earth. I can't say enough about how great the staff is! 3) The food is great: I should have ordered some food from the brazilian side, but I am so in love with the cornmeal crust pizzas (the regular crust is fantastic too!) that I kept it on the italian side for the night! Let's just say that you really cannot go wrong with food here. Well, it's time for me to go get things ready for my wedding tomorrow. I kid you not. My experience last night in the private party room at Mozzarella di Bufala was so great that I felt the servers and cooks deserved to get a 5 star rating right away (even if I am in groomzilla mode) so that their owner can see what an outstanding job they did. Thanks staff!

Please close down! I'd rather order dominos or papa johns! seriously..... 1 hour and 30 min for cold, tasteless pizza. Close down so a real pizza joint like- presidiopizzacompany.com can open. You should call them for their pizza dough recipe!

Pricey, but worth the fresh ingredients I recommend the Cuore Pizza, BBQ has a kick so good, Disappointed it was cold by the time it was delivered

I had not been here since I was a little kid. I got the cornmeal deep-dish style pizza. It was delicious. Our server was really nice and helpful and gave a table of adults some crayons. They also have a full menu of Brazilian food. My friend got it and it looked good.

Worst Meatball sandwich I have ever had! They charged me $15.61 for 2 bud lights & a funky meatball sandwich. 8pm Sunday 10/19/2014 They never even asked me why I did not finish my half eaten meatball sandwich! Actually I use to eat nearby at west portal joe's years ago when my brothers friends gunther kroll & jim Wilson use to run the restaurant. West Portal Joe's was great.

I ordered from eat24 and our pizza came within 30 minutes. I don't know if that's normal but it was awesome! We ordered feta, sausage, artichoke hearts, pepperoncini, olives. It was deeeeelicious. I've lived here forever and never really gave this place a try outside of the occasional slice walking down west portal. Having an entireeeeee pizza was amazing. The price was Steep which was kinda annoying but totally justified after we took our first bite. It was hot, it was cheesy and perfection. It's kind of hard to top that now. I don't know if I'll be having it again any time soon but maybe in the future. It will be my special occasion treat pizza because of the cost. And I'll just slum it with some other greasy cheap pizza till then. Their crust is like the best freshest most delicious bread. It's probably one of my favorite crusts of all time. It isn't flavored in garlic or anything fancy but it's got a great taste that you would totally eat it alone and scowl anyone who left theirs on the plate (as you should for anyone who doesn't eat crust, those people can't be trusted)

I love that they have individual slices in a sit down restaurant. Makes it easy to come with friends and have everyone pick something they'll enjoy. Lots of choices, friendly staff, and yummy food!

I have eaten here quite a few times over the past year or so and unfortunately quality of the food has gone down. I usually come in for pizza by the slice and though it is convenient, they seem to always skimp out on cheese lately. I have literally gotten a slice of pizza here with a 1/3 of the pizza uncovered in cheese. I came in tonight and actually decided to order extra cheese on my pizza but unfortunately even when I decided to pay for extra cheese, I barely got any. Think it's time I just stop coming here, I've been disappointed too many times.

Two of us went here a couple months back. This was a really nice dinner spot. It's small, just off the busy street but has a great feel inside. Our waiter was friendly and made sure we had a good evening. We wound up getting one of the half/half pizzas on the menu and it was great. They cooked the pizza thoroughly and it popped with flavor, not to mention there was plenty left to take home. We also ordered a few appetizers which were delicious as well. I highly recommend coming here if you like pizza or Italian food in general. If it weren't so far from us we would visit regularly.

Visited during the midday weekday buffet. The buffet is comprised of hand picked items from food categories on the menu such as meat, vegetable etc. It changes every day The price is reasonable, about $10.00 and the items I had tasted were very good. Looking at the regular menu, it is pretty expensive. Only ate from the buffet but I do not like looking at such high prices, for a pizza/Italian restaurant. This is not a white tablecloth establishment. The prices are fit for that style though. Spaghetti with just sauce is $12.40. With meatballs is $14.05. Pizza no extra toppings, 14 inches is $15. With olive oil is $17.70. I may still try their pizza but will only go there reluctantly because of these high prices.

Honestly, the pizza was sub par. We ordered the italian pizza (which you would imagine would be the best one, am I wrong?) the salad wasn't redeeming either. On top of that, the service was pretty slow, and they didn't seem to care to much.

Walking down the street I saw that they serve slices. So I popped in and they said that they freshly make each slice to order that takes about 5-7 minutes. I thought it wasn't too bad of a wait. They told me to wait on a bench for the pizza. It seems like if you order just a slice you can't eat here. I asked if I could eat in and they said I could but if it were busier it wouldn't be the case. Geez. Most of the staff has this nonchalant attitude. I heard one employee jokingly yell "suck my balls" to another staff member. The pizza comes wrapped in aluminum foil packed in a bag. The pizza is, as they state, freshly cooked. It's so steamy and piping hot. The dough is very soft but the exterior has a nice bite to it. The cheese and the dough are so gooey and tasty it's like eating a cloud. I choose sausage as my topping ($.80 per topping). They're a little sparse with the sausage but I could at least taste it throughout the pizza. If all their pizzas taste like this, then they have something great on their hands.

This is my second time ordering a salad as part of a delivery order, and this is the second time that the salad, although advertised as coming with kalamata olives (note the plural form!), has had only ONE olive in it. The more I think about how dumb that one olive looked in the salad, the more annoyed I get. The pizza at Mozzarella Di Bufala is pretty good (hence two stars), but this false advertisement is really getting annoying. Seriously, who puts one olive in a salad? Tonight I called to complain, and the woman on the phone seemed annoyed and apathetic. When I told her that this was the second time I had received a salad with one olive in it, her response was ".....okay?" and "what do you want?". I want a real frickin' salad! Do you think I looked over the menu and thought "Mmm, a greek salad sounds good, but I hate kalamata olives. Hope they only put one!"? I didn't expect my money back, that's almost as stupid as one olive all on it's lonesome. But, I did expect for the person manning the phone to apologize and MAYBE make a half ass promise that they would be more careful. I get that you didn't put the one olive in the salad, kid! But dealing with customers, including irritated ones, is part of your JOB. One olive. So stupid. Get it together Di Bufala! You're too expensive for shenanigans like this!

I had a pizza and salad from here that was very good. The pizza had sausage and bell pepper and something else I don't remember, but is was good nonetheless. The crust had cornmeal in it and had a texture that made it heartier than normal pizza crust. The salad was good (for salad at a pizza place) and I would definitely have it again since it complemented the pizza so well. Overall the place was clean, the food delicious and I'll be back to try the Brazilian food.

Love, love, love the Di Bufala's special, it's pricey, but well worth the coin! I literally lived off their pizza in college, and tend to always use their coupons with every order. Their staff and delivery personnel are awesome, and reason why I always come back!

This review is for delivery. We've recently moved to Parkside, and one of the biggest disappointments has been the lack of quality delivery in the area. Mozzerella Di Bufala to the rescue! We ordered the Ricotta pizza on NY style crust and it was delicious! Four stars for two reasons: the pink sauce was too lemony (should pink sauce taste of lemon?), and the delivery guy rang the doorbell, waking up our baby, when I had explicitly written "do not ring the doorbell." Then again, delivery guys never read the notes... Another huge plus - the bottle of wine and cheesecake we ordered were both excellent! Wonderful food for delivery is a gift to parents of young children. Grazie Mille, Mozzarella Di Buffala!

Tonight I ordered a medium cornmeal crust pizza through eat24. Estimated delivery time was 45-60 minutes. 1hr and 25mins later, our pizza finally arrived. 25 minutes later than the estimated time; no problem, it's a Friday night...it's probably a little busy. Upon opening up the box I noticed there were no condiments (pepper flakes, parmesan cheese), also no biggie...I've got that stuff in the pantry. When I went to grab a slice to plate it the pizza was lukewarm...bordering cold; the crust was soggy. I don't mind having to wait a few minutes over estimated delivery time but if you're going to be late, at least give me hot food. I contacted eat24, who contacted the restaurant but they refused to adjust their cost. You'd think for a $30 pizza and a delivery charge they'd have better customer service. Eat24 did give me a $5 credit in my account. The owners/managers talk the talk about giving good customer service but when it comes to walking the walk, they don't seem to follow through. The next time I order pizza it definitely won't be from here.

I came here for the first time with a few friends. We brought our own wine and ordered the vegetarian pizza. We asked to omit the eggplant and add artichokes. Very good and tasty pizza. You can't be the company either. It was a nice place to begin my birthday celebration for me. :)

  • Jason B.

Age-old dilemma. Which came first? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch… Here you get both grilled chicken and baked eggplant on a roll. Impressive taste. Impressive size. Impressive service (water while waiting, attentive and welcoming staff). Less than impressive $10 + tax/tip cost. Which prompts another age old dilemma: How many stars do you give when you love the food but don't love the price? Three stars comes first.

Totally irresponsible workers and service. I ordered a pizza through yelp and these incompetent human beings made me wait an hour and 20 minutes before I called myself to find out that they haven't been making it even though I got an email saying they got my order. Their excuse was just as incompetent and lazy as their service, that their system crashed and they didn't get my order even though clearly when I told him my name he had in the system... Instead of offering some kind of extra food because clearly I ordered for a reason because I was starving, they literally offered to just make me wait another 45 min for my pizza that ordered... How does that seem fair or make a good business? It doesn't... This place lacks smart people and good management

I rarely write reviews, I've just read a handful of very negative ones so I wanted to weigh in... Fair warning, I am a career restaurant woman. Been at it over twenty years. The food is good. The service is polite and efficient. What more do people want? I order the cornmeal pizza. Yummy. Smoked chicken Caesar salad. Delicious! Seriously. Tonight I tried a Brazilian dish. Steak with grilled onion, greens, rice, beans, and breadsticks. Perfectly yum for $20. Delivered still fairly hot and cooked a true medium rare. I like and recommend.

Ever walk out of a place still hungry? I did when I came here. So I ordered the spaghetti and friends ordered some pizza. Pizza hut had more toppings on their pizza than this place. And the clams on the spaghetti were not fresh, only thing fresh was a strain of hair I found on my plate. Complete waste of money.

Finally checked them out again with a friend - this time got delivery. Well of course after looking like nosy a^# neighbors looking out the window 5 times for the driver, the pizza came very late (Seriously my friend lives less than 5-7 mins away by car), and the delivery driver was looking like he was "expecting" a tip. Lucky for him I wasn't the one paying or he wouldn't have gotten one especially because the pizza was rather lukewarm by time we got it (of course because the driver got there almost an hour later). Foodwise: Pizza was actually a little better than the first time I had it. Crust was slightly better. Toppings good (pepperoni & mushroom), the large is a pretty generous size.

How is this place still open? We are 3 of 6 people eating in the whole restaurant. Our server, although spacey has been very friendly. He did however forget to bring me a menu and a glass with lipstick marks on it for the girls (twin 2 yr olds). After that he brought our food with 2 extra plates. Both dirty. I notice a weird smell and started sniffing our plates after he walked away. The prawns I had on my grilled prawn salad ha obviously gone bad. So I haven't touched if. The ONLY decent thing about this place was that the cheese on the top of the dried out practically sauce free pizza was okay. Having come from a home filled with Italian cooking I had low expectations. Italian places rarely live up to the family style. But this place is gross. Needless to say... The girls and I will be gabbing a snack on the way home rather than me pushing them to finish their lunch :(

I have been to Mozzarell di Bufala every few months for a number of years. So I consider myself a reasonable frequent customer. I have been here during lunch time, late lunch time, busy weekend nights for dinner. Today they were batting a 1000 in a negative way. Yes they were busy. We were served by someone that has served us many times. I usually order one of two dishes, this day I ordered one of my usual subs and was told that they didn't have it. Found it strange since I ordered it many times. The sever may not of heard what I said, but my wife said she heard I wanted a sandwich. I was brought an entree instead and 35 minutes later. My wife and son were practically more than half way through there meals when we ask to check on my dish. I have to say that I have worked the line, and was a server in a restaurant while training as a chef. So I felt my part of the order was forgotten. Was told it takes a little longer. to cook. I'd say the back didn't see the rest of our order. An excuse was made. then it ended up being the wrong dish. My sons pizza was under cooked, and he has ordered his gluten free pizza many times. My wife ordered a coffee to finish up and was not given cream or even ask if she wanted cream. When she asked for some milk it was not brought to her for another 5 minutes. And it took the maitre d' to eventually bring it to our table. So since the food in this place is not exceptional. I guess it time to move on. They did take 20% off our bill.- so I guess the the sever who is usually good realized all the mistakes that were being made. Having been a sever for a short time we did not take it out on him though I knew he was making a bunch of excuses.

We stopped by on a Friday night and couldn't believe it wasn't packed! It was close to 9 so maybe the rush was over. We shared a medium pizza with zucchini, and wow! Just like in Italy! Service is chill, nothing extravagant and doesn't need to be. We were offered complimentary breadsticks before the pizza arrived. Next time, I want to try their cornmeal pizza!

it was our first time yesterday, i was with my little girl for our lunch, we love the food especially we were able to have a combination pizza, steak was great except for that too much garlic on top which wasn't a problem after all. will definitely be back.

After waiting an hour and a half for our pizza it was cold! I love this place but cold pizza is inexcusable. It was not a bit warm and the oil in the pesto puddled up on top. I hate doing bad yelps but I called and since it was 1030 no one picked up.

I was too lazy to go out so I decided to order for delivery. This place is not cheap by any means. I had the cornmeal crust special with a side of bruschetta. The whole thing came up to a whopping $48 meal with tip included. That's the price of convenience I guess. The kids in Africa don't know how good they have it. I have an appetite of a bear, so I was able to finish half of it. The food was satisfactory at best, nothing to really write home about. But it did its job and put me into a food coma immediately after. Then the shame spiral continues when I wake up and reevaluate my life and the decisions I have made. If you're looking for a guilt trip that isn't worth it, I'd say by all means order from here. The delivery took about an hour, and they weren't taking credit cards at the time, so luckily I had the cash on me.

5 stars for my favorite pizza place! I've been coming here for about a year now and honestly, this place never gets old. Their pizzas are heaven. I love this place because the only cheese they use on their pizza is straight up mozzarella, hence the name... Anyway, if you're in the area, Mozzarella di Bufalla is surely a place to sit and grab a bite.

We had the Mocqueca with prawns (Brazilian menu) and the first pizza on the menu (has bbq chicken, forgot the name). The pizza servings were far larger than anticipated and the Mocqueca (sorry if I'm spelling this incorrectly) was very tasty. The dish has a coconut milk base, which was super potent. I love coconut anything, so this made me an instant fan. +1 for being conveniently located just steps away from West Portal Station. Lastly, the servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

I have been meaning to write a review about my last experience with this place but I kept putting it on hold until now. I ordered food last Sunday through Eat24. I usually order from this website and always, I mean, always add tip to my orders. That way, when the food gets here, I don't have to run around the house looking for change to hand over to the delivery guy. To make the story short, the delivery guy arrives, asked us (my husband and i) if we added the tip to the order because apparently the receipt did now show the "tip". FIrst of all, you NEVER ask for tip or DEMAND for it. I added the tip, i just don't have any control how the restaurant distributes it. Anyhow, I told the guy that I added the tip and asked politely if he could hand us our order that we had already paid for. He seem reluctant to hand it to us. I had to tell him "do you want me to print out the Eat 24 receipt or call them and ask them to show you the tip amount?" He said "yes, please". Then changed his mind and said "Forget it, here's your food". Really??? I have never encounter such a situation in all my life. Never will i order from this place. I felt harassed and threaten.... because of the "tip" ?!?!?! EDUCATE YOUR PEOPLE, MOZZARELLA DI BUFALA!!!!! YOU ARE HARASSING YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!! HORRIBLE PLACE! NEVER AGAIN!\ and the food was not a big deal. i can make it at home for a cheaper price.

I've lived in this city for 11 years now and I've tried so many pizza places, some that are are just random hole in the walls to gourmet pizza and the only place I've found to have superb pizza is this place. They have a special crust that you can only get in a medium size but worth trying. I love it, its pricy but yummy and the place is always on time and never a long wait. The pizza is still good after 2 hours unlike some pizza places where the pizza dries up and looks like the Arizona desert lol I say call them and give it a taste!

By far our favorite place in West Portal. Usually we get here with 15 minutes to spare before our movie next door. They hustle to fill our gullet and get us out the door and that's impressive enough. The staff is excellent and always in a good mood. Pizzas are great but where they excel is selection and the Brazilian menu. You will find great standard fare and diverse fish and meat dishes that will always surprise. Come here 100 times and never eat the same thing. Bonus hint. Try the cornbread pizza.

LOUSY! The two dinners I ordered for delivery were SUPPOSED to come with a side Onion/Tomato salad - they did not. I ordered garlic bread - that did not come with the delivery either. I called back - and an hour later-- garlic bread, but no salad. I called back and was told the salads were just small salads. I got the impression that they were trying to NOT have to deliver what they advertised as coming with the dinner. Who knows when I'll get that--I live 2 miles away, so it will probably take another hour to get those. Of course, the entire dinner was ruined. If they don't want to include the side salads--then don't say the dinner comes with them. I WILL NOT be ordering from here again. Plus, the fries were overcooked and cold, and the grilled chicken nothing special--just grilled chicken atop plain white rice, with a side of red beans. Definitely NOT worth $15.95. Well, a half hour later, I got the "onion/tomato salad" WHAT A JOKE. What they are calling an "onion/tomato salad" is SALSA!!!!! It even came in the little plastic container used for SALSA. Talk about deceptive advertising--A CONDIMENT IS NOT A SALAD. That's like saying the dinner comes with tomato soup, and giving the customer a packet of ketchup!

The food is solid, reliable. My son likes their pizza better than Goat Hill or any of the chains. They are actually run by Brazilians and have a Brazilian menu which is quite good. But if you order those dishes, one is usually enough to feed two! We were regulars there, until a recent incident (below), and since they have tried to make things right by us, we'll be going back. The incident: We planned an evening out with some friends, and we decided to get the kids together at our friends' house and order pizza for them. We called, placed the order, confirmed the address and delivery time, and paid. We returned from our dinner out to find our kids hungry. Mozzarella di Bufala had called, informed the kids that the address was too far away for delivery, and told them there would be no pizza. After our prior (very negative) review, the manager contacted us and made a sincere effort to make it up to us. So we'll take my son there for a birthday lunch with his friends. If all goes well, we'll be there on a regular basis again. Thanks Diogo for reaching out to us.

We reserved a table in their side room for a party of 13, but on the day of we thought it was a party of 10 instead until the 11th person showed up at last min. The table was already set for 10 & it took several requests for the 11th setting to be placed down. I would say the pizza was good, the salad was ok (wish they gave us a choice of dressing-didn't realize that we weren't given a choice until it came to the table w/a creamy dressing & 2 people couldn't eat it). The service was a bit slow & clumsy & they weren't busy in the middle of the afternoon-2:30. We had 2 of their large salads & the waiter took away the plate that still had a serving on it without even asking if we still wanted it. I don't like to waste & I would've made sure someone ate it. Anyways, the experience was just ok. Don't think I would bring a group there again....not sure if I would go back myself! Crust could've been tastier.

Another one of those great neighborhood restaurants I miss terribly since I moved from SF. Always had great service but they can get very busy so be prepared for a wait sometimes. Candidly, I don't recall ever having a bad meal here but my favorite is the cornmeal crust pizza with sausage & mushrooms, garlic & onions...so good!! The chicken parm sandwich is also yummy but I sure miss the pizza :)

After 14 years of excellent food and service it ends tonight. Coming home from work VERY hungry I ordered a very basic pizza order and waited. Standard ingredients, extra sauce. The usual. They delivered in the right amount of time, but the pizza - instead of extra sauce - had NO sauce! Who makes a pizza without sauce?!?!! I figured it was me screwing up the order. Checked the receipt: EXTRA SAUCE in huge all caps. Thought I'd let it slide and not hassle them. We took a few bites, but no, this was not edible. Called them to let them know and they apologized and said they'd bring one by quickly. And they did. And this one had MAYBE a few tiny dollops of sauce on a few slices. Definitely not an extra sauce pizza. It is over for my family and Mozzarella di Bufala. Sadly I had just collected my 9th of 10 slices for a free (whatever it is they are offering now. it used to be a free pizza, then they dropped it to $15 worth of food), so I am stuck with these magnets now.

It was delicious!!! I got the "Moqueca de Camarao", cuz the Prawns cooked in extra Coconut Milk was on point. But I then added my own Curry Powder & ancient Himalayan mined Sea Salt combined was beyond belief!!! Highly Recommend I'd give it a FiveStar if they added more prawns to the dish

just ordered pizza for delivery and don't you think that for a $33 four item pizza, it will be outstanding?! we just ordered mdb's Italian 'special' with a simple request that the sausage be on one half (i.e., the same amount, just on HALF of the pizza) and we received *maybe* 10-12 pieces of sausage on one half the pizza. sorry, but FOR $33, I won't be ordering here again (even with their $2 off a large pizza coupon)! mdb FAILS! P.S., Diogo, I'm not sure you can or are willing to improve my impression of your restaurant. I was explicit about my order and yet I still feel like I was stiffed for half the sausage on our pizza. I was tempted to send it back when I received it but didn't want to punish the delivery guy.

We give the pizza a 5, and when they finally get our order right I will raise the score. They keep putting bell peppers on our Hawaiian pizza when we request no bell peppers. Tonight it happened a 3rd time. I've never heard of bell pepper being on a Hawaiian pizza and it ruins it. The cornmeal crust is amazing, and really the pizza is SOOOO GOOD. Just get the order right please :)

I have ordered from this place (mostly on eat24) over 50x in the last 2yrs. Always amazingly tasty and good portions. I have never been inside so I can't comment on their atmosphere but I personally LOVE this place for their delicious food. I wish they would give free 2 liters of sparkling water or something other than soda but as they say - ya can't beat free! 4 stars ;)

So, I love to cook all types of things. But sometimes, I just want someone else to do all the work. Also, I don't happen to have a brick oven in my apartment--so I will usually get my pizza fix elsewhere. Like some sort of ritual, whenever we've both had a hard week or are feeling grumpy, my boyfriend and I just sort of space out and stare at each other. And it turns out, we're both imagining the first bite of a medium gorgonzola-mushroom-garlic-topped pizza from Mozzarella Di Bufala, delivered to our door. You can usually find a few coupons in their brochure (which you can get from their actual restaurant or in the mail if you live close enough), one of which takes $2 off of any medium-sized pizza. Delivery usually takes about 30-40 minutes, which isn't unreasonable. Pricing is on the higher side, but it won't matter after you've stuffed your face.

The pizza is consistently great, the Brazilian food is good, it's super convenient (um, right around the corner from my house), and all the Brazilians who work there are really nice. Try the cornmeal crust for something a little different then a run of the mill pizza. Note - not sure if they've got a new receipe for the pizza dough but I've been a little less happy with my pies recently and had to switch my rating from a 5 to a 4. Don't slack off guys just because you've gotten great reviews!!

As far as delivery food goes, Mozzarella Di Bufala kicks a whole lotta ass. If pizza and cokes is all you want, they've got you covered. However, if you want a romantic dinner at home and don't want to cook, they'll bring everything but the candles. In fact, here's my suggested menu: Start with the steamed mussels and a bottle of the RH Phillips Sauvignon Blanc or Luiz Felipe Edwards Cab. (Yes, they do deliver wine!!!) Dip the complimentary bread sticks into the mussels broth! Share a small spinach and bacon salad. Next, have your choice of entree. I love the chicken picatta. The Brazillian dishes are also quite a treat. I usually order with online (golicious). The interface is super easy and comprehensive. Roll over the menu items and you even get beautifully shot pictures of most of the choices. If I do happen to call my order in, the staff who answers are always helpful and competent. It's a really nice contrast to most delivery joints whose staff gets it wrong and often doesn't have the English skills to answer your questions. Only four stars, because I can't say that any of the food has ever been so impressive that it knocked my socks off. But certainly ranges from good to really good and you never have to get out of your pajamas.

This place is an absolutely fabulous neighborhood pizza joint. Best kept secret is the 'slice of french' to go, which is only $4.35, which has pesto, roasted chicken, fresh garlic and sun-tried tomatoes!! Mmmm.......

Came here for beer and pizza after Bay to Breakers today. Pizza was okay... nothing too special. Beer was surprisingly cheaper than I expected. $3.75 for a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. CLEAN restroom. Big and spacious. Perfect to drop the kids off at the pool.

ended having dinner here when we discovered paradise pizza was closed. still craving some pie we stumbled upon di bufala. i marvelled at the italian and brazilian offerings. we got the di bufala pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs. all the flavors were fine, but nothing sent me through the roof. i'd like to return and try some of the brazilian fare.

wow, so this is another time i had to remove then re review a place. original review *am i the only person not getting sexually harassed here? damn, im good looking, harass me. damn good pies. i got like three pizza full of magnets i need to cash in damn it. small dining room. good pastas... as everyone says, try the brazilian shit... not too shabby i must say.* so the west portal location went under some renovations. i just stopped by last night and man, they done did good. the decor? ehhh, anything is an improvement from the old joint. they expanded a few more tables......but to the really important thing, the reason i am re reviewing this place..... the food. wow. they have REALLY stepped up. with west portal becoming a nice little hot spot for some good 'set dining, they HAD to step up and they did good. no joke. i had the spaghetti frutti de mare....EXCELLENT no shit. i was really surprised how good it was. dont get me wrong, its not gonna complete with high end restaurants, but for what it is, it was damn good. definately worth a visit. good cheap eats in the neighborhood.

I've been here a few times and I will say, they have decent food. Ok, scratch that. They have good food. Even though they are known for their pizzas, I'm a pasta fiend and whenever I come in saying I'll try their pizza, I end up getting pasta. However, they have a "happy hour" Monday-Thursday right now from 5-8pm, buy 1 pizza get 1 free. So I'll have to take advantage of that. The food here is great. Very flavorful and never disappointing. Their roasted garlic spaghetti is amazing. Spaghetti and meatballs, delicious. They have wine and beer for those who like some alcohol with their food. A big plus, they deliver. Also, one portion of the menu that I haven't touched that I need to give a chance is their Brazilian portion. I would love to try Brazilian food. The moment I do, I will update this review. The reasons I didn't give this place 5 stars, is for three reasons. The service is a tad bit slow. The portions are a little small, which is a problem for me cause I'm a big eater. And finally the prices are a teensy bit high. I mean come on, $11 for half a pound of pasta? It's good, but not THAT good. Unless they hand make the pasta, then I think I should get twice the amount I got. So if you're craving pizza, pasta, or just good food and you're in West Portal. Come here, but bring a coupon.

I have to say this is my new spot to eat in WP especially when they deliver! Believe it or not I never had a meatball sandwich until now and Wow! it was very Yummy!!!!! Hot wings were awesome too!!! My friend and I called late after a couple of mimosas and were at my house in less then 40 minutes. Whoo ooh!!!

I've only had delivery from here. Overall, the pizzas have been good, but there's been some inconsistency in the quality. I've had a couple of situations where what I ordered was not was was delivered -- close, but no prize. Right number of ingredients but not necessarily the ones I wanted. Had one occassion where they brought me a stone-cold pizza. I tried to give them feedback about problems but have never heard back. There's something up with the online ordering -- they no longer accept credit cards on that site (as of a couple weeks ago) - so if you don't have cash you have to call-in the order. They're nice enough, but I really prefer doing an online order.

Someone needs to update this restaurant and add Brazilian to the category!!! (Edit 1/25/08: Someone listened to me and added Brazilian. Thanks!) I'm sure this place keeps popping up as solely a pizza joint and quite honestly, I doubt this is their strong point on their menu. All the poor to average reviews seem to be stemming from the pizzas and it's bringing down the star level! They have a good selection of Brazilian dishes here too, ya know? I had the feijoada, the national dish of Brazil!!! This portion was so generous that it had to come in two dishes! One just for the crisp garlicky collard greens, a pile of rice, and some ground yucca powder. The feijoada came as a black soupy mess of pillowy black beans, fall off the bone pork ribs, and some spicy sausages (chorizo?). It smelled so effin good, I didn't know where to start! I took a good spoonful of the black beans and the sauce to pour over my rice. At first bite, you involuntary pinch your shoulders inwards as if you want to try to savor that flavor forever. All that pork fat and whatever herb/spices they tossed in melded so well together. And the pork.... my gosh, was it tender! Only a good long simmer can render meat to just flap off the bone like that. Service was good, maybe because we were the last group in the restaurant for the night. We couldn't finish the feijoada so we packed it to go... already looking forward to tomorrow's lunch. We had already devoured our rice and actually asked for extra not once, but twice! For our to go boxes. Our waiter obliged w/o any haste. He was so nice I almost wanted to ask for extra sausage... and ribs... and beans... and can I just get a refill of the entire dish!? I look forward to going back to try their other Brazilian dishes. Pizza is a stone's throw away anywhere, but I think their specialty is this more exotic cuisine.

OUCH! I burned my tongue eating the slice of pizza. I couldn't believe it was still HOT!! Unbelievable. It's like they rushed the pizza over here STAT to make sure it was still hot. Usually the pizzas are warm only.. that screams excellent to me. The pizza itself was great. We tried the french pizza, thin crust and although the chicken was a bit dry, the sauce and sun dried tomatoes was a blast!! We also ordered the mini calzone and that was good too.

I get delivery pizza and Brazilian food from them regularly. Both are very good. I think the thick crust pizza is about the best delivery pizza in the city. I like their dibuffala special the best - lot's of meat! The only negative is the price. They are expensive.

I thought the pizza was great. If you're going with a group or ordering a slice by yourself its always there in good time. The staff is nice and the seating is relaxed. The pizza is great but I haven't tried the Brazillian food yet.

I used to stop here after school throughout high school and eat a piece or three as a late lunch. If you have the metabolism of a athletic teenage boy, you should be able to handle the massive amounts of molten cheese and grease without issue. All in all, it's a pretty solid pie. The one outstanding quality is the crust. To the rest of you who can't look at a thousand calories on a plate without grimacing or reaching for your heartburn medication: get a salad or something. I hear the other food is good too!

I order for DELIVERY from this place all the time. The BRAZILLIAN FOOD in the place is AMAZING!!!! The Pizza was okay but I like the calzone better. The place has the worst yucky microwaved-tasting breadsticks/doorstops ever.

after feeling naseous from eating a certain something in the morning...i was feeling the hunger "pangs" (who really uses that word? i always said hunger pains) since i hadn't consumed anything except ginger ale and water for 9 hours...went to west portal starbucks w/the bf and friend and wanted something yummy...decided to get some pizza from mozzarella since i've always wanted to try it i got the french pizza (chicken, pesto, sun dried tomatoes, and garlic)...it was just what my empty stomach needed...the bread/crust was perfect...my only complaint is i wish they added a bit more pesto (b/c who doesnt love more pesto?) next time...i'm coming for the brazillian entree or the cornmeal crust.

The pizza here is pretty good. But I do not go out of my way to order from here if I crave for pizza. The prices on the menu are a little expensive. I had the chicken piccatta, for a pricy $13. It came with spaghetti and a couple pieces of chicken. I was still kinda hungry after that. The caesar salad was fresh and tasty. And the lasagna is also very good.

  • H. D.

I really didn't expect the food to be good here, for some reason, but it is! You get some of the basic Italian dishes and it's not overpriced either (as I think most Italian restaurants are). My favorite dish from here is the Vegetarian Lasagna. It's SO freaken good! You don't even miss the meat. And the servers are always nice.

Perfect for a date! They sell pizza's by the slice, and the piece's are HUGE! The food is very good and the prices aren't too expensive. I've never really tried anything except their pizza, but there pizza is legit.

Happy to return Di Bufala to 4 stars after the service and quality improved over the past couple years. We love the cornmeal crust but now order extra sauce as they always seem to skimp on it. Without it, the pizza always seems too dry and more bread than pizza. That aside, this is still the most delicious pizza in the area. Here's my prior 2007 review: ----------------------------- Sadly I'm here to change my review. I had given 4 stars to Di Bufala for their awesome cornmeal crust & excellent delivery service. My partner & I have had pizzas delivered by Di Bufala about twice a month for the past 3 years. In the past 4 months though, the service & quality has hit such a low that we needed to re-evaluate. We had our pizza arrive burnt twice in a row (all but inedible & surprised they would have even delivered such a wreck). They did give us a free pizza when we complained and were nice about it, so we wrote it off at the time even though we felt the service & quality was going down hill. Sadly our most recent interaction with Di Bufala pushed our limits so we won't be going back. After getting disconnected twice and being on hold for a total of 15 minutes, we asked to speak with a manager simply to express our concern about our experience in hopes they would listen and show interest in getting feedback. Instead the manager (Reese) was rude to the point that we simply had to hang up. Guess that's OK as their computer lost all record of us when they installed a new system last week... Here's my prior 2004 review: ------------------------------- Come for the pizza...stay for the crust. Ask for the cornmeal crust...you won't be disappointed. Note that they do charge a little extra and don't accept coupons for the cornmeal crust. What's an extra buck if you're being healthy though. I haven't tried the pasta yet but the place smelled delicious when I stopped in to pickup my pizza. Cheers, Anthony

This is my favorite pizza place in this area of the city. If you just want an inexpensive slice that is an option, but what makes Mozzarella Di Bufala great is the cornmeal crust pizza. I would describe it as somewhere between delectible and orgasmic. The fried mozzarella sticks are good too.

We received a flyer from Mozzarella Di Bufala in the Valuepack some time ago, and it has been sitting in our delivery binder for quite some time. We order pizza maybe twice a month, and try to give each establishment about 2-3 attempts. Admittedly the delivery pizza in SF is some of the worst in the country. It is WAY too over priced (what is up with $30+ pizza deliveries... pizza should be the cheap alternative), and often too doughy or just low quality. Dont get me wrong- there is some good pizza (think Beretta, Delfina, etc) in this town- just not delivery style. Anyhow, we were very happy with our pizza last night. We ordered half Italian and half Portuguese. The bummer was the half Portuguese came as a half Brazilian. We were bummed to get egg rather than ham, however it was still good. The Italian side was super tasty too. The dough was not too thick or thin- just right. The delivery was timely. We will definitely order from Mozzarella Di Bufala again. Happy Homebodies with Full Bellies :)

Excellent pizza. Very good non-pizza food. Friendly service. But they got almost every part of our order wrong. We started with salads. I with their Bay Shrimp salad. He with their chicken cesar. I asked for the dressing on the side. It was not on the side. We split a pizza. We asked for olives, mushrooms, and salami with extra sauce and light cheese. They left off the mushrooms and gave us light sauce and extra cheese (although our receipt said light cheese it was definitely not). We also split a Bife Acebolado. We requested the steak to be medium rare. There was nooo pink in it at all (although it was still pretty tender). Even still, the food was all pretty good, and the pizza is some of the best I've had in the city. And they deliver to our neighborhood!! Yay!

We placed a simple order, a salad, a brazilian dish, and a 10" mushroom and artichoke pizza. After 20 min, the waitress came back to our table, saying their computer had been playing tricks and she wanted to confirm our order. I confirmed it. 20 min later, the food arrived. The pizza was artichoke and pepperoni, not mushroom as ordered. I politely pointed this out. The waitress left the food on the table and went to check the ticket. She came back with a smile and announced, "oh yes, the chef has made a mistake". What did she expect? That I was making it up just for kicks? Then she asks me if I want him to make another one. Well yes I do, I want what I ordered, since you're expecting me to pay 11 bucks for a 10" pizza. Plus I'm vegetarian. 20 min later, when my partner has finished her food, my pizza arrives, complete with mushrooms and a suspicious amount of cheese on top. Midway though eating it I discover half a piece of pepperoni. I pick through and find two more. I pick the cheese off to satisfy my hunger. A different waiter comes to ask if everything is OK. No it's not, I say, and explain. Erm..... he stammers......erm...... i knew nothing about that. Well I should hope not. He takes off 5 bucks. Four slices of bready chewy cold twice-cooked bland pizza contaminated with pepperoni and i still paid 6 dollars for it.

Haven't tried the Brazilian food yet. Just the pizza. Great yummy pizza, thin crust, yummy cheese, and delicious sausage!!! I ordered it drunk at the Dubliner, and 30 minutes later I was in pizza heaven! PERFECT pizza. YUMMMMMM. Inspires me to come back and try the food also now. Updated 9/28/2007 Custom slices for $3. Buttery garlic bread. Wings soaked in their own housemade hot sauce. I don't need to tell you anything else. Just go.

This place recently reopened after some remodeling work, which meant that I finally had a chance to try it out after walking by it (disappointed) a couple of times on my way to other restaurants... I don't know how the interior looked before the remodel, but it's pretty nice now...also, the staff was very friendly and on top of things, which is always cool. The pizza was pretty good (we tried a sausage and mushroom New York-style pie), but I suspect that I'm going to bump this review up to five stars when I get around to trying their Brazilian dishes. Several people in the restaurant were eating them while we were there, and they looked and smelled fantastic! Check it out when you're in West Portal and find yourself jonesing for pizza...or Brazilian food.

the grilled ny steak and chicken w/ okra here is good. really good. brazillian food is interesting. and i wouldnt know how to compare good from bad since this was the only place ive ever had it, but compared to FOOD, its GOOD FOOD. the corn meal crust pizza is good too, but im not a big fan of pizza and at this time im anitbread whenever i can...

Oh, I long for the days of the 50% off pizza days. That was what got us in the door, but we have returned again and again, because the pizza is usually crisp and not too greasy, and they have take out til 12am.

  • Shannon C.

The regular pizza is not bad, but the cornmeal crust pizza is the reason to come here - that and the Brazilian food. The Brazilian dishes are a bit pricey ($13.50 for chicken, rice and polenta) but they are unique and tasty. This place is small, so be advised.

    (4)
  • Andrew W.

Have had the pizza here a few times, and it has always turned out well. Can't say why, but the slice was better than the whole pie. The Brazilian food was good, but it is funny when I see the expression on the faces of the Brazilians I know when I tell them how much damn money it cost. Imagine a $7 taco. It is all ~$15. Still, it is one of the few places that has it, and it is on west portal, so the price isn't amazingly out of line ;)

  • Alexis W.

Yes, it's called Mozzarella Di Bufala PIZZERIA. If you happen to eat in tho', skip the pizza, go straight to the Brazilian food. (Just to be clear, I've ordered pizza here, it's bog standard, nothing to write home about, but it'll satisfy hunger, and tons of West Portal/Hoover kids go here to get a slice. My bro is a big advocate) What you WANT is the Moqueca di Peixe. (or Camarao) It's halibut (or shrimp) cooked in an addictive aromatic coconut broth, served with red & green peppers, tomatoes, onions and rice with spinach. It just hits the back of your throat with a pungent yet sinfully satisfying warmth. It'll perfume your entire table til you ignore the other plate of churrasco (beef and chicken-also quite good) sitting in front of you and start negotiating for another bite of that amazing coconut sauce. The wait, especially on Friday can be a pain in the arse, as the dining rooms are both rather small and well trafficked (small aisles, busboys, waiters, customers etc.) hence only three stars. But based on the moqueca alone...well, that would be another story. Italian food: calzones, spaghetti, looks good. We had the fried zucchini as well-which was served hot, crispy and with the illusion of seeming to be healthy. (tho' I think 'fried' cancels out 'veggie')

One of my fav hole in the wall spots in West Portal to grab a portugese pizza (love me some linguica), Moqueca de Peixe (halibut flavored with coconut milk, loads of veggies over rice), and a few Peroni. Service is quick, friendly, and very cozy seating area. They even give you crayons to doodle on the placemats while you are chugging a cold one waiting to grind--yippee!!! We had a fun drawing contest where each of us took turns picking an iconic figure- while not showing anyone else- then we all vote on who was the closest to the character- of course i lost every time...but then again i was sitting with two art majors from Berkeley..daymm hippies!!! (J/K Maile!!) Seriously, you feel like you are eating communal style with a bunch of strangers..cool vibe tho. Since the new renovation and additional seating room it looks like the owner's ambition is to become more of a known staple of WP like Bursa Kebab.

mediocre pizza for the price. Save your money and go to Little Caesars. Toppings are very skimpy. Think they used almost two whole mushrooms across a large pizza. Who ever gives this place more than three stars has very low standards or thinks that paying a lot for pizza makes it better. There was barely any tomato sauce. Pizza looks larger in photos.

We've lived in the hood for a year and have yet to try this place. What a nice surprise! The calzone and meatball sandwich were delicious, service was great. Not super expensive like many places in West Portal. All in all a great dinner joint.

Cute place that doesn't look like much from outside-- the faded yellow fabric sign above the restaurant doesn't impress, but the food is very good. The menu includes both Italian and Brazilian items (all the Brazilian food has meat, though)-- there are two vegetarian set pizza options and two vegetarian sandwiches to choose from (eggplant or, simply, vegetarian); there are also salads and pastas that don't have meat. That's not to say there's nothing for the meat-eaters-- there's plenty. Really. A small salad averages $4.50, a large is $7.50. Three of us shared a large Greek salad, which came with three breadsticks (better than those at that American, uh, Italian franchise famed for it's breadsticks, by the way)-- breadsticks would've been nicer if they weren't cold. The three of us also shared a custom two-topping 12" cornmeal crust pizza for about $17. It was very good-- the toppings aren't just on top of the cheese, they're mixed into it. You can also get a big slice of pizza for $2.75, fresh from the oven just for you. Caught a glimpse of one going to the other table, it looked good! Table and booth seating are available, high ceilings help ease the claustrophobic quality of the restaurant (it's fairly small)-- there's also a large mirror on one of the walls to help make the place look bigger. Only quibble is the service was kind of lukewarm (there was only one other table in addition to us), but maybe the guy was having a rough day. Or was pissed that three of us were sharing a pizza and salad. Or annoyed that we took so long to decide what to get. Or something.

I could probably order better pizza for delivery in my neighborhood, but for some reason I always go back to Mozzarella di Bufala. The pizza is pretty good, but like many others have said, nothing to die for. I usually order online, and even though they say they'll call you back to ensure your order went through, 90% of the time they don't. Also, despite what you may read, they do charge about $1.75 for delivery, so be prepared to pay a little more than what your bill says online. The people are always nice and the delivery speed is usually pretty quick. They give you these pizza slice magnets that equal a free $15 pizza when you make a whole pie, so there's some incentive to keep ordering from them. I know I could order from somewhere else that is probably better, but I'm really lazy and I have a thing for magnets.

Funky little place, with pizza boxes stacked in every nook and cranny. That sorta cause it seems like the place is more set up for deliveries than sit down dinners. But still very friendly waitstaff. update 2/25/07 So they remodeled. Totally different look. I only something to go, so I didn't get to sit and see how it felt. So my rating is the old place right now, I'll update whenever.

We loved it here! Had a meatball sandwich, hearts of palm salad, and a regular crust pizza. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly and quick. The pizza was piping hot and delicious - perfect balance of sauce and gooey mozzarella cheese. We were seated in a side section because the main dining area was full, but we did not feel neglected at all. We will definitely be coming here again!

So I'm normally pretty dead set against trying new pizza places. There are a lot of mediocre pizza joints out there, all of which are a waste of time. A friend of mine took me here, as she swore it was "new" and "different." Whatever, every pizza joint claims to be "new" and "different." (Isn't that Apple's slogan?) Anyway, this place turned out to be anything but ordinary. They appear to be some mix of Italian/Brazilian, serving pizzas with an Italian twist, as well as traditional Brazilian dishes. We got one of the cornmeal crust pizzas -- their speciality. My gosh, totally blown away. I grew up eating cornbread muffins as a kid and this place brought me back to my childhood. Add some tasty cheese and fresh toppings and you've got a winner. I'm glad my friend lives in West Portal -- I'll be back often. ;)

I like to get a slice to go when I do trivia across the street Tuesday nights. The pizza is very delicious. There is a unique taste, I can't really describe. But its just like a little something extra. The feta cheese with tomato is mmm, mmm good.. So is the sausage, and pepperoni slices.

yummy pizza and garlic bread, but kind of pricy. I had a personal pizza and garlic bread and it cashed out for 21+ dollars? hmmm?

In my continuing quest to find a 'for delivery' greek salad that meets the standard set by my beloved Uncle Vito's (sob), I ordered a salad and small pizza here. Decent pizza, fresh greens for the salad - once it arrived. Oh, cute delivery guy too. Does that get its own star...? I would order again as long as I wasn't on a time crunch.

The pizzas are all great. We used to call for a pizza delivery. But there is one time it got me really pissed off. I had a business meeting with my co eds. And I waited 2hrs and yet the pizza delivery didn't arrive. So I cancelled my order cuz my co-ed left. And I felt so shame and didn't had anything to offer to them.

I am NOT reviewing the pizza or Italian dishes. I think many of the reviewers have missed the most important part of this place, the Brazillian styled food! Ive tried most every dish on the menu and have been happy every time. I especially liked the fish. Oh and if you havnt ever tasted it try the Guarana Antarctica soft drink. Guarana is the main ingredient in most Brazillian soft drinks and this is the most popular one.

The food here is pretty good and they have a decent selection of Brazilian foods. The Feijoada is pretty tasty and the salads are fresh. The service is good. The breadsticks are piping hot and tasty. My only real problem with this place is the horrible interior with very old/dirty cushions on the sofa. They could really use a paint job and some new seating. Nov 2007 update: Hooray, the place has been revamped and the interior is much improved. They have a larger wait staff. The prices have gone up slightly, but it's still affordable. The tables are a little cramped on the entrance side of the restaurant, but the "new" wing is more spacious with high ceilings. Here you can get "Guarana" the soft drink--kind of like a sprite, but typically Brazilian.

I come here when I am around west portal and I want to buy just a slice of pizza. They give a generous slice at a reasonable price and the taste is decent enough. I sat inside once to eat it but the inside is awkward. I'm not sure how to explain it but it was just an unorganized set up and I just didn't like the inside and how they run it. And there's always a bunch of greasy pizons working (I think they're employees but could just be hanging out and acting like they work there cause they know some who does.) in there. There's better places on the street to eat but there's also worse.

If my friend didn't live in the neighborhood, I would never have tried this place. Strange combo- pizza and brazilian? Or maybe not, what the hell do I know about brazilians anyways?? We ordered the brazilian food. It was good. Reminds me a little of.. Cuban? Or latin foods with less seasoning than Mexican. Which is okay with me, I like it all. I also like that this place is open late. Places that are open late automatically get another star. Okay, maybe not. 4 stars is good enough anyways.

This is one of my favorite places for pizza and pasta. Their recent expansion during last year or so allows much more room. Their private room can sit up to 30 people. The pizza is usually good except one time I had almost a burnt crust; besides that their food is great. Their service really can be good or bad; it really depends on how attentive your waiter/waitress is. The portions are large and a single pasta dish can easily be split for 2 people. The pizza is baked fresh after you order so it comes out piping hot. I've always been a little jealous they do not deliver to my neighborhood since everytime that I've been here, someone if not two people are on the phone taking in phone orders. *drool*

Went here the other day for a slice. The pizza is tasty and they use fresh ingredients. You pay for it though. I had a slice for $4.50, plus a soda so the bill was in the 8 dollar range with tip. I liked the old setup where I could just go in and get a slice, and sit on the stools in the front. This time I had to sit at a table and wait for the waitress and then wait for the food, then wait for the bill, then tip the waitress. I just wanted a slice, not a "dining experience." BTW- When I ask for a Coke, I don't want Pepsi. It might not be a big deal to you, but it is to me. At least tell me you don't have Coke products. Overall good food and friendly service.

You can not beat this place for delivery, especially on a cold night when you want a home-cooked meal but don't feel like running out to the store, or for that matter, cooking. I'm not just talking about pizza, which as you can see from the other reviews is very good (if you like cornmeal crust pizza, which I do). Here are some other dishes that they make very well - we always order extra in order to have leftovers for the next day: Lasagne - nice sauce, rich with cheese and meat - 1 portion serves about 3 people (or 2 very hungry people). Ravioli with Cream Sauce - I am EXTREMELY picky about cream sauces as I pride myself on my Alfredo sauce, and this one is just about perfect. Generous portion of ravioli with a velvety cream sauce with just the right amount of nutmeg. Heart-stopping deliciousness. Hearts of Palm Salad - Much better than the house salad - fresh romaine lettuce, hearts of palm, olives, plum tomatoes with a vinaigrette dressing. Chicken Marsala and Chicken Piccata - both very good, tenderized chicken cutlets in either a rich marsala or lemony picatta sauce. Tiramisu - not the best I've had but pretty good. Cakey, not lady-fingery, variety of this dessert. Made with heavy cream so it is very rich. You can eat at the restaurant, but it definitely has that pizza-parlor ambiance (read: none) - but it's fine if you're going to a movie at the Empire and want a quick meal beforehand. In fact, I had a funny incident while dining here that in my inner circle is known as the "Butterpants" episode - if you catch me at the right moment (read: drunk), I'll tell you all about it. Meanwhile, if you are having an urge for a hearty meal, or if friends drop by at the last minute for dinner, give Mozzarella Di Bufala a try. Heck, you could probably use your own serving dishes and claim it as your own cooking - I won't tell.

This place is newly remodled. Nice and the Brazilian food looked really good but we were there for some pizza. One good thing is it is right next door to the Empire theater so it is a nice place to grab some grub before a movie or after. Ok ok the za. not bad. I felt like it was very SF pizza but not too bready. lots of cheeze which was very good but not much sauce. I mean not much at all. the only time I tasted it was a tiny bit at end between cheese and crust. it was just ok, the sauce that is. I felt it was kinda like a less greasy version of Bravo's. I would say this place is fine for pizza but I would not come here for that reason alone. I do have to go back for that Brazilian food. price was not cheap but not too expensive either. a good sized menu and the wait staff was nice

they deliver! yes! i was a bit curious about certain items (ie what ingredients were used, the portion size) and the wait staff was so nice to help me figure out what i was in the mood for. i dig the mixture of semi-gourmet pizzas and brazilian food. ive been here over a handful of times now because the food is quick and it's a nice date place with its cozy atmosphere and tantalizing selection of foods you can share with that special someone ;)

Something is terribly amiss at West Portal di Bufala. I have had good pizzas delivered to me from Mozzarella for about a year. Last Saturday we had THE WORST pizza we have ever in our lives delivered to us. Think wet pudding. I called at 3:40pm and though it took only 30 minutes to deliver (which was unusually speedy for di Bufala), the pizza was cold, greasy, and utterly limp. It was flat and could not be picked up. There was no rim to the crust. It could not even be eaten with a fork as there was no volume to spear on a fork. A Domino's pizza or a cheap frozen one would have seemed like fine cuisine compared to this inedible slop. To be fair, I did not raise a stink with di Bufala that evening. We had friends over from NY (embarrassing that they thought this was typical SF pizza) and were heading to the Bluegrass Festival. I have since sent a letter to the owner to alert him to this gross failure of pizza-making 101. But with all the pizza choices we have in SF and considering how expensive pizza has become, I say find another choice for pizza. I'll be cruising yelp for some other ideas.

Pizza was great! Brazilian dish was tasty (chicken with a saffron sauce). And a very interesting version of picata--with the option to get it served with a bunch of veggies instead of pasta if you're watching out for those type of things. All-in-all a pretty good meal for 4 for about $80 including a glass of wine.

I found this place by accident while waiting for submarine sandwiches down the street. OKAY...let's see first.. ALL the waiters/waitresses speak fluent Italian and have thick Italian accents when speaking english. Good sign the food might be good(usually when you have the ethnic ties). I ordered two combo slices to go. They came straight out of the oven and had FULL ingredients: half cut olives, peppers, mushrooms, thick juicy cuts of pepperoni, salami, and big mounds of sausage. VERY FEW Pizza places put on the toppings as generously as Mozzarella does. I was totally shocked. The pies are crispy slightly thick and crunchy. They cook it so the vegetables on the pizza are heated but not soggy and crunchy and fresh. Totally impressive. The meats melt into the cheese and gives that perfect sweet/salty/crunchy/crispy saucey goodness that all pizzas should be like. I haven't had a chance to sit down here to give a review of the patrons...but will sometime soon. The service I did have was good, very efficient and just a well oiled machine of a restaurant. I loved it. The pizza is up there as one of the best in the city. They definitely give the best helping of toppings and do not come off too salty. I will always try this place out when in the area! Short/sweet review. I can do those instead of my usual novels too you know! =)

Gosh could these people be any nicer/convenient/reliable? Me thinks not! Got a delivery on one of my lazy nights with my boyfriend, gotta love pasta on a cold night! Anyways I ordered their pasta bolognese (with a side of a meatball), a mini pizza, and a side salad. The pasta was alright, truly nothing to write home about. The meat ball was excellent, the salad was nice and fresh, and the pizza was once again ok. The food is nothing spectacular (3 stars), but due to how wonderful they are they warrant 4 stars!

Food was mediocre. I like the interior. Seems like it was newly remodeled. Service was very friendly but extremely inexperienced. They gave my food to someone else... there was no one else in the place. Then the waitress comes by and says ,"Is this yours?". Not "Did you order the xxx?" or "are you waiting for the xxx". Just "is this yours". It was like I was in a cafeteria. I was like ,"I don't know. Is it what I ordered or did you give it to someone else... again?" They keep yelling at each other talking about business while customers are there, as if we're not there. I may be a bit old fashioned but I really don't like people screaming while I'm eating at their joint. I won't be back but I would not say it's "bad".

I went here with a friend of mine to get a bite to eat. Service is not great, but its a cool place to hang out and talk. The Ceasar salad was very good, their balsamic dressing on their house salad was good also. The breadsticks they brought were cold, but very flavorfull, I can imagine them being delicious if they were hot, or even warm. We had their Corn-Olive oil crust pizza with red peppers, eggplant, and something else. Overall the pizza was very good, and very filling. We could not finish more than 1/2 medium between the two of us. I really enjoyed the crust because it is soo different than any other pizza I have ever tried. Overall good experience and worth a shot!

This pizza has great cheese and is more affordable than more pizza places. We had the Italian and the Brazilian. We also custom ordered a Margarita Pizza which is just tomatoes and basil. The Brazilian was surprisingly good despite hard boiled eggs being one of the toppings. The Italian was OK but I don't really like peppercinis.

I've walked past this place for years and years, and for some reason never walked in, assuming it was just another average, neighborhood joint. I've found more and more local places that are serving what I call 'teenager pizza" (my apologies if you're a teenager) -- which is to say, pizza loaded with enough cheese to block an artery before you've eaten your second slice, a sweetened sauce, and a 'thin' crust so thick and soggy you might prefer using it to mop up kitchen spills. But I decided to give these folks a try - and boy, am I glad I did! The pizza here had a truly excellent crust: crispy on the bottom but moist inside, and the toppings were fresh, tasty, and not excessive. The wait staff was friendly, competent, and attentive, and the decor of the second room (they appear to have broken through into three different adjoining retail locations) had a great 1940s decor, with high ceilings, hanging chandeliers, and nice artwork on the walls. If I had only one criticism, it would be that they happily charged us over $21 for one medium pizza with a few, inexpensive toppings - including charges for TWO more toppings when I ordered extra garlic - and that's before taxes, tip, drinks, etc. In my opinion, garlic should be free. Even though this is now my favorite West-of-Twin-Peaks pizzeria, I don't think I'll go back very often because their prices and topping policies seem a bit greedy for a pizzeria. Maybe this is how they support their promotions and coupons.

I frequently order pizza from here and have learned some tricks that help make my delivery timely. I was like some of the people here who had a bad online experience so I called and asked them what gives? The girl told me that when you submit an online order, even through their site, all of the information is faxed to them and is not sent through directly to their kitchen. So basically, the efficiency of the online orders is pending on whether or not the fax goes through. This place is pretty popular and sometimes it takes a while to get the fax in the system. They told me that if you're going to order online that it's best to call them to confirm that they recieved the fax. They, as a policy, do not call the customer to confirm unless there is a problem. If you're going the online route, make sure you call them to confirm your order but why not just call in the order and be direct? It's much faster and the staff is pretty dedicated. I have their number in my cell! Always expect about an hour for delivery and just plan ahead. You know when you're going to be hungry so place an order ahead of time! As for dine in, I haven't gone much but they have like 2 people working 2 big dining rooms. It can get kinda crazy, the service is not about turnout. Good place to order some wine and relax. The feijoada completa is delicious (black bean stew with pork, served with rice and collards - what more could you want?) The spinach bacon salad is the perfect blend of salty sweet. If you don't eat meat, get the eggplant sandwich! It's delicious!

When I was at SFSU, some folks and I were heading home on the M back to school when we decided to get pizza. So I ordered our pizza while running to catch the M home. It was amusing and the woman on the phone thought it was funny. Ever since then (3-4 years ago), I've been ordering pizza from here. It's nice and not too greasy, but greasy enough. I've tried a couple of their special pizzas and always been happy about it. They've fixed up the place and it's much nicer. I'd eaten there before they remodeled, but the folks have always been nice and quick. I highly recommend it.

Went here to grab some food to take over to Joxer Daly's. They have plenty of pizzas to choose from, and they even have some Brazilian dishes. We grabbed two slices to go which is plenty as their slices are almost Costco pizza slice size. Nothing spectacular, but definitely better than Round Table which is your other choice if you are in the area and in need of a pie fix.

For delivery, it is the best pizza. Better yet, it is like Pauline's but delivered :) Great choices on different crusts. Their cornmeal crusts are to die for. And the ingredients... From goat cheese, to basil any delicious topping you can imagine... I think I am gonna have some tonite ;)

a beautiful marriage of italian and brazilian food. can't speak for the ambiance of the restaurant since we ordered take-out but the food was delicious. we ordered a pizza with tomatoes, artichokes, black olives, and pesto. super yummy and the crust was perfect, not too thick, not too thin. we also had the greek salad and hearts of palm salad which were both very tasty and refreshing. we couldn't get food from here without ordering a brazilian dish so we got the moqueca de peixe. the halibut was soooooo good! will definitely eat here again! =)

By San Fran standards, I think this is one of the best places in town I've had pizza. Not too greasy, good crust, and very tasteful. Every time I have gone, the service has been excellent. The atmosphere is very nice. I would describe it as casual-upscale. This isn't a place you have to dress up for but it isn't a place you will feel like you are walking into a fast food restaurant either. Located on West Portal, less then a block from the entrance of the Muni tunnel, this is a great pit stop before jumping on the Muni or after getting off. A previous Yelper 'elrod' complained about the prices. This is one of those places where you need to use a little common sense when reading the menu. I got a large slice of pizza ($3), an appetizer, and a drink for under $10. You should expect to pay between $10-$20 depending on what you order and how elaborate it is.

We recently had pizza from this place delivered over the weekend and I have to say, the pizza wasn't really that impressive. I ordered 4 large pizzas, pepperoni, sausage and mushroom, Hawaiian, and vegetarian. None of the pizzas were really amazing, The crust was a little thick and the pizzas were all pretty dry. They were also pretty light on the sauce. I probably wouldn't order from this place again and I'd probably just try something new.

Don't eat the sandwiches as they were soggy and flavorless. But from what I gather from the reviews, the pizza's where it's at.

The coolest touch about their web site is that the delivery zone is a Google map, so it's really easy to see whether you're in the zone or not. Given that the first question you often ask a pizza place when you call up is whether you're in the zone, it's neat to dispense with that before you pick up the phone. The pizza is more of a New York style, with a thin crust that lets the fresh tomato sauce and just the right amount of whole milk mozzarella. It seems like a lot of SF pizza places use way too much cheese, but not di Bufala.

I came in just to try the Brazilian fare. Had the Black Bean Beef and Sausage Stew in the Clay Pot. First time I had collared greens! I enjoyed it. If you go Saturday, that dish is a couple of bucks cheaper. The young ladies serving us were kind of cold and brusque. Don't know why. It wasn't that busy. The middle area looks newly remodeled with a nice wine rack and dark wood tables, but the mundane awing outside doesn't make you think you should order anything but pizza at this place.

I love the Greek salad, and their pizza is some of the best I ever had. My mom loves their pasta dishes, and any one we have brought here has also fallen in love with this cute little restaurant in West Portal. You should definitely try the Brazilian soda, and have someone with you to share.

People always talk about the Wow factor and I definitely experienced this here in a bad way. Got there early to beat the crowds and stood at the wait to be seated sign for a good 5 to 10 mins as waitstaff walked right by us to and from tables without acknowledging our existence, each at least 3 or 4 times so they knew we had been there a while. Finally someone asked how many and we were seated. A while after 2 menus were dropped at our table by a waitress who didn't stop. After another long while we asked someone if we could order and they said someone would come by. After another long while asked another person if we could order and she said the same thing also without stopping. At that point we got up to leave and happened to cross paths with one of the waitpersons who told us someone would be with us and she looked straight at us without saying a word, no apologies, no nothing. Wow, they really couldn't care less about their customers, most places would actually say something if people got up and left before ordering, wow.

I'm addicted to the New York style pesto pizza here! For a while we were going once a week and still never tired of it. I really want to try their Brazilian food, but the pizza is just so damn good I haven't been able to stray. Really cool staff as well.

Very mediocre pizza. If you're starving and anything pizza-like will do, you probably won't notice the bland crust, rubbery cheese, and too sweet sauce. But, I have had worse pizza, so 2 stars seems fitting. Oh, one more thing- its overpriced.

This is the closest thing I've found to authentic Italian pizza in the city of San Francisco... I am not rating it higher because I think I can find closer to authentic but that's just my optimism talking... try it out!

Nice waiter. Ok pizza- tasted like Digiornos to me. Had the small Veggie I pizza today for lunch so gf and I could catch up along with the Greek Salad. Overall experience was just ok. Would not comeback unless I was in the area and really craving for pizza.

Great mix of Italian and Brazilian plates. My wife was in the mood for Italian and I was in the mood for Brazilian, and we each got what we wanted! I had the Bife Encebolado (Beef with onions, rice and collard greens) and my wife had the Ravioli with Meat Sauce. They were both delicious. The ambiance of the place is two fold as one side is a sit down restaurant very nicely decorated with samba music playing while the entrance is more for the pizza side where you can order to go. The waiter we had was Brazilian and a nice guy. It's too bad this place isn't in LA where I live or else I'd go there every week!

This is a great place to get a quality slice. It's never greasy, they're generous with the cheese and toppings, and it's one of the best crusts I've ever tasted. I've never tried any of their other food, but I bet it's good because it always smells great in there.

I'm kinda dumbfounded this place doesn't have better ratings... We stumbled in while driving aimlessly, I took the hostess' recommendation (pesto with mushrooms which happens to be RIGHT up my alley) and it was wonderful! I'm especially fond of the fresh mozzarella melted on top. I didn't try a salad or the garlic bread, but definitely try this place out if you're in the area!

Been wanting to try this place for a while and I did. I wasnt in the mood for pizza so I didnt get that, but there's enough reviews for the pizza anyway. Service was slow that night, I think they had a new girl, so I can be understanding. I ended up getting the eggplant parm, not too adventurous. It was a small plate, 1/2 eggplant and 1/2 tomatoes. Seemed like they skimped on the eggplant. I was also surprised to NOT get bread NOR salad with the main dish. So, $13 for small 1/2 plate of eggplant? MMMM, I don't need to come here again, unless it's for the pizza.

UPDATE: WAITED OVER AN HOUR FOR AN ONLINE ORDER, THEN CALLED AND WAS TOLD, "OH, SOMETIMES THAT DOESN'T WORK." GAVE ME 10% OFF. WOW WAY TO LOSE A LONG-TIME CUSTOMER. I am a motherf*cking sandwich connoisseur. 3.5 stars. I've never eaten there, nor do I remember ever eating their pizza. I often get sandwiches and salads for take out or delivery, and these items are always good. Hot sandwiches come on crunchy french rolls, with moist meat and warm sauce. Salads come with crisp lettuce and fresh ingredients. Prices are good, chicken caesar for $5, large sub for $8. And they're open late, till 11 I think. Delivery's always been on time or early. Sometimes when I order ahead for pick-up, I am quoted a long time, assumedly because they're busy. Sometimes when I order for pick up, I show up after the time they've quoted me, and the food's not ready yet. This can be a problem since I'm often parked illegally, since parking is hard. But all is forgiven once delicious italian is warming my belly.

This is a place to eat good pizza! My family has eaten here countless times and the food has always been great and we're always served promptly. The service, both over the phone and in the restaurant, has always been excellent even when busy. I especially like their thin crusts, oh so good!!!

I've been ordering pizza from MDB for just over three years. The food is always hot when delivered and they make a pretty good think crust pizza (purists may disagree). I find the people there pleasant to deal with. They have online ordering, which I've been using for at least two years without any problem (easy for the simple re-order). I can't speak to the rest of their menu (I just order the pizza) and I'm not a pizza connoisseur by any means, but I like this place.

i had the pizza tonight. same as usual goodness. Its a great spot to get some grub but not a place for a loud ruckus. the slices are good and do not need a lot of topping to win over a pizza lover's heart. the single slice will fill you up and in general mostly good food.

The prices were decent for the west portal but overall i was not impressed. The food wasn't that bad but i wouldn't take a date there. I was mostly upset by the horrible service that i had. At first i was reading the menu at the front door then one of the waiters comes over and shuts the door on me instead of asking if i would like help with anything. Next i walked up to the counter and the woman took 5 mintues to ask me what i would like. (never once did i ask snobby to these people). After i ordered my food (which was only a salad) took them 20 minutes to get back to me because after they made it they left it on a counter for 10 minutes while i was standing and waiting. Granted i understand that if a restaurant is busy then food may take a while, but this was around noon and it was dead in there. The employees looked soooooo unhappy there. I felt depressed just being around them. Not the type of atmosphere i want to eat in.

Good Pizza, nothing amazing, hard to get a table, probably should just take out. At least go here over the chains.

when we're needing pizza, this is da place! just about the best pizza around, IMHO. Sauce - yummy Cheese - also yummy Toppings - plentiful, and yummy it's all good!

Just a brief one: I really like their pizza, and pasta is VERY good as well. New renovation was a great addition. You can order on the internet! I love this. And it works! Service is hit or miss, and it's not super cheap. which is why i ding a star, but I still eat here all the time.

  • Shelley F.

We like their pizza...nothing earth-shattering or life changing but good. However, their delivery takes forever and I've submitted online orders that have just gotten lost and the food just never arrived. So, that has to bring the "star" rating down quite a bit, in my book. DON"T offer online ordering if it isn't foolproof.

They have the greatest soups....grilled chicken cesar salads...and yummy bread sticks....not garlic bread though....good meatballs and meat sauce....and the prawn appetizer is an amazing salad in itself....we order from the one on Fillmore....they deliver. Pizza is good too....wasn't real fond of the veggie sandwich.

For the love of linguisa, Mozzarella Di Bufala gets four stars. Their chicken pesto pizza is dry so stick to the big meat pizzas with thin crusts.

Nothing not to like. Homely but classy atmosphere. I really liked the combination of Brazilian dishes with Pizza. Service was friendly and intimate. Moqueca De Camarao (prawns) was solid with flavor. A little bit rich, but the rice complimented it. Quality home made status spaghetti with meatballs there.

  • Melanie V.

The pizza here is pretty "meh" and a bit pricey but the pastas are pretty good. The meat and veggie lasagna are basically a bock of oozing cheese with some pasta and sauce thrown in. Also, the meatball and italian sausage sandwiches are quite yummy and probably one of the better values on the menu. The restaurant itself is a little cramped so I don't really like eating there, and their delivery is a bit slow considering I live a 1 minute drive away. Pickup is a good option, but then you don't get one of those delivery magnets where you can get $15 off a pizza. Haven't tried the Brazilian stuff yet.

This place has a nice by the slice deal with lots of fresh ingredient options. Their salads are good as well, especially the with fresh mozzarella. Nice ambiance, friendly servers. Great spot for dinner before a movie.

Unbelievable, ordered delivery at 1:57pm... First, the driver called saying he's outside. Turns out, no, he's not. Then I called him back. No answer. Call the restaurant number, the guy said, "Sorry about that, the driver got the wrong address. Be there soon." Fine, a wrong address, no big deal. Then, with my correct address, the driver came. I signed the credit card, and he left. I opened the paper bags, WTF are those things? (Excuse my language. lol) With a starving stomach and plenty things scheduled, I'm really not happy about what just happened at all! So, I called again. Another half another hour past, I got my LUNCH at 3:35pm... Ha, I keep thinking about this, from the phone conversation, they have nice service attitude, and they must be nice people. Although the pasta I ordered are really yum, after waiting longer than 1 hour and half. I just don't know anymore if that because I'm extremely hungry? Anyway, was going to give a 4 stars, because of the food. But instead, the 3 stars for wasting my time and ruining the whole Monday plans.

I ordered pizza, hot wings and pasta from this restaurant recently for a basketball team party. The delivery was on time and the pizza, garlic bread and spaghetti bolognese were delicious. The portion was also generous and hot upon arrival. I will order from this restaurant from now on because it's easy and convenient.

Unfortuanately, even though I'm Brazilian, I'm vegetarian, so I can't vouch for the Brazilian dishes on the menu. Their pizza is amazing, though. I went with my girlfriend, and we had pizza with gorgonzola on it. They also have quite a list of toppings. The dough is really what makes this pizza so great, however. Come here when it's not too busy and you'll have the best pizza on West Portal.

The only things I liked about this places were the nice waitress we had and the fact they give 1/2 off pizzas between 5-7pm on weekdays. The pizza was soggy and the ingredients don't taste as quality for the price and the type of pizza they are trying to sell. It's nice that they have a cornmeal pizza, something different, but it's not made very well. If we didn't go for the half off price, I would've been VERY upset at the price given its quality.

This, my friends, is the best pizza I have had in the city. With their mysterious Brazilian techniques and spices, these swarthy restaurateurs knead magic into every slice. No joke! And the pizza isn't the only good thing on the menu- everything else is great too! The Brazilian entrees have a real up scale feel which for some reason doesn't feel out of place in their not so upscale establishment. And if you're in a hurry or ordering on the phone, why not pick up a delicious sandwich? Still, it's the pizza that makes this place shine for me. Just be willing to shell out a little extra dough for the sake of your little buds (the taste buds that is). For a pick me up which doesn't leave you gagging (a la red bull and friends) try the Guarana drink. I wish they sold these at my local supermarket!

  • Jonathan T.

I've been here twice and there was very little consistency with the pizza. One time good, the other time not so good. Following Todd J.'s review, the cheese and toppings basically fell off the pizza after a few bites. Boo!

  • Sarah R.

Ordered delivery from here on delivery.com last night based on Tablehopper's rave review. The thin crust was really good - we got ours with pepperoni, mushroom and extra mozzarella. Speedy delivery and arrived piping hot. I'd be interested in trying the rest of their food - the Brazilian specialties, the cornmeal crust, and the Italian sandwiches and delivery entrees. Reliable option for pizza though!

When a friend used to stay at the Fillmore center, we walked past this place on a daily and I was always interested in trying it out. They always gave coupons and free delivery to the tenants of the Fillmore Center. So of course, in my constant search of finding something to eat, we decided on trying out the pizza for being close to home and coupons didn't hurt either. Needless to say, I am pretty happy with their pizza. I especially like the amount of cheese that they put on the pizzas and how nice and gooey it is when you eat it. The crust is very good also. As for toppings, anything will do.

Deeee-licious! The Greco pizza is my favorite. The mozarella sticks are so good too. Interesting promo offer: collect 10 Mozzarella di Bufala magnets and get $15 off any food order!

  • Theo P.

Don't think of this is a pizza place. Think of it as a Brazilian place. But if you must get a pizza, try the cornmeal crust. Also, despite what you might think from looking in the front door, the restaurant has a lot of nice seating. The restaurant keeps expanding, annexing adjacent storefronts.

  • Lulu M.

Yum, I had my birthday there once, pasta was okay, but pizza was, as always, fantastic! YUM YUM YUM, I go there almost once or twice a week; love the pizza. And my best friend always get the bruschetta, and we order a side spinach salad, best lunch/.dinner/snack combo.

SERVICE: FANTASTIC!!!! Friendly, efficient. FOOD: Loved the fact that the artichoke hearts were not marinated! The pizza was decent. Definitely go!! It's worth a shot.

I have changed my opinion of Mozz di Bufala. Originally I thought they were a bit lackluster, but I've slowly grown to appreciate their pizza. Maybe it's out of need (they are the best delivery joint in my neck of the woods), but whatever. The pizza is consistently good and usually delivered hot.

Yummy pizzas and other foods but it's so pricey! Collect 10 magnets for $15 off your next order. And yes, the magnets can be combined from both locations.

Nothing to write home about. The menu recommended thin crust, which we had, but it doesn't hold a candle to a good slice of New York pizza. Based on the other reviews, I'll go back to check out their Brazilian menu items. In terms of decor, maybe it was cuter when the place was just a hole in the wall? I went post-renovation, and it looked like it was trying too hard (very matchy-matchy), although the additional seating area looks nice with high ceilings and windows facing the sidewalk (we sat in the older seating area near the kitchen).

Horrible. Thursday evening, hungry, so I'm calling in a take out order. I ask for a slice of cheese and a slice of olive and am told it will take about 10 minutes. When my boyfriend and I arrive 10 minutes later, we assumed that we would not have any sort of long wait ahead of us because of the simplicity of our order. Wrong. After arriving, we waited 25 minutes and then asked them what the hold up seemed to be. The women working at the register were very nice and apologetic, but the delivery man standing nearby had a very different attitude. He smugly looked at us and said something about there being lot of orders and only one oven, so we needed to chill out. After waiting 10 more minutes we got our food. Upon opening the box, I gave up all hopes of a decent meal. I compared the two slices and it was obvious that my olive pizza had once, about an hour prior, been a dried up piece of cheese pizza. they just put some olives and a bit of cheese on top and put it back in the oven. I called the restaurant and spoke to a manager hoping that maybe he could in some way explain what had happened on this terribly disappointing visit. Unfortunately, I was told that my piece of pizza was an example of how they prepare all of their "pizza's by the slice". When I explained how old the slice looked, the man even went as far as to say, "what do you want me to do about it?". Needless to say, I will not be going back.

  • Anonymouse C.

With not that many restaurant choices for food near the West Portal MUNI station, and one that also delivers, this is a pretty decent place. The pizza isn't nearly as scrummy as, say, Little Star Pizza, but they're still better than Domino's. One downside, though, call ahead. No, seriously, even on a "non-busy" night, the delivery time is often an hour or longer.

    (3)
  • Michelle N.

I wasn't impressed with the pizza. I ordered a small pizza for myself. While chewing a bite from my second slice, I noticed there was a weird hard texture. I pull it out of my mouth and see that it's a piece of the plastic that wraps around the cheese. The plastic still had a piece of the cheese label attached. That was my first only time I've ordered any food from them.

  • Charlene E.

I would have only given 2 stars, but the delivery driver was so nice that I had to bump it up. The sandwich I ordered obviously had the burnt top scraped off (reminiscent of over-fried grilled cheese). It was also cold, so I had to pop it in toaster oven. Ironically, I left it in for too long & ended up burning the already diminished top, causing the need to further scrape it. However, the buffalo wings were gooo-oood.

Ah, this place is a treat. Great pies, quick delivery, good prices. Walking down West Portal Ave, pub to pub, it's the best snack on the street. I'll have a slice of everything, please.

We picked up a large Italian pizza yesterday, cuz' my friend likes pepporicinni and artichoke hearts and sausage. Anyhow, we got it fresh out of the oven, but to our disappointment, it didn't seem like it was baked all the way. In fact, I was surprised it wasn't burning my lap as we went back home; most pizzas I've picked up do that, so I knew something was wrong. When we got home and tried a slice, our disappointment was verified; thus, we stuck it in a 425 degree oven for about 15 mins. It then came out perfectly hot and crispy, and we were finally able to enjoy and appreciate this popular pizza! (I have a feeling it was underbaked because when I came to pick it up, they didn't want me to wait around too long. So, in a sense, they were being cool like that). :0)

I like pizza. I also like spaghetti. So, I like Mozzarella di bufala. My one bad experience here involved a certain someone tricking me into eating eggplant. BLECH!!

  • J S.

Since I moved to SF for school 4 years ago, I've made Mozzarella a staple. I love the veggie lasagne delivered at home when I'm sick, or bringing out-of-towners in and wowing them with the brazilian food or cornmeal pizzas (mmmm greco cornmeal). I'd be lost without this place.

I will only give it ONE star because the pizza was OKAY. I remembered at the Fillmore one the pizza tasted soo much better. Anyways I have been craving the vegetarian pizza II. So finally I came here to get it. Customer service, right when I came inside no welcomes or anything I had to ask to get some service. I asked if I can order to go. And the boy in the front looks at me like What the hell? and I asked again "I would want to order something to go!" and he was like "right now?" and I said"yes." Then after a split second he asks me what do I want and I didn't even took at the menu yet. How RUDE! The lady with the curly hair is soo fucken help too! She just gave me this nasty ass look whenever I talked. Also this place to so damn over priced! They have downsized on their mini pizzas too. I suggest all of you yelpers to bring your money else where! So when my pizza came the guy was like "are you waiting for something?" and I was like "yeah" and he handed me my pizza. RUDE! Then I stormed out of the restaurant pissed off like hell. FUCK YOU ALL OF THE RUDE WORKERS AT THIS RESTAURANT!

Almost four stars, but I've only had one meal here so I'll hold back. I agree with other reviewers that you should try the Brazilian food. The Feijoada Completa tastes every bit as good as it smells, the Frango Brasileira matches it in quality, and both come in portions large enough to satisfy almost anyone -- I can eat a lot of food, but I could only finish half my plate. One table complained about both service and food while we were there, and not without reason, but clearly they'd never seen Waiting. No one else in the restaurant seemed anything other than satisfied. Definitely recommended, but if you go for pizza, I think you're missing out. Get Brazilian and expect to take home leftovers.

Pizza by the slice, made to order, you choose the toppings! Jackpot, just what I needed...I was starving, it was late, and I was feeling cheap. It was really good pizza, I will be there again!

Pizzas here are delicious. But almost everytime I walk by, the chefs say things like "hey mama". It's hilarious.

    (4)
  • Stephen W.

Meh. It might be a matter of taste, but I didn't like it when I had it delivered. Everything was great up until the crust, which was, in my opinion, sub par. So I would say the pizza was fine, but I won't be going back.

We just moved into the area a few weeks ago and needed to find a local place for good pizza. We've eaten in (usually busy but we never have had to wait long) and had takeout (30 min to our door and the pizza was still hot). The service has been consistently good - polite and attentive - especially for a pizza place. The cornmeal crust pizzas are really great the normal ones are good. Toppings are plentiful and fresh. We have yet to try the brazillian fare but it certainly looks good.

Brazilian pizza join? Eh... it's not that weird after you realize it's the best pizza you can get delivered in your 'hood. I still feel bad for odering from Round Table that one time.

  • tammy m.

Yeah, the pizza is good, but have you tried their lasagna? Delicious! When I really want to treat myself, I go in the middle of the day when my kids are at school, take a book and order lasagna. The wait staff couldn't be more personable. Love it!

Worth eating, worth paying for, and worth coming back to after you realize how much you like the food, prices and service. Too bad it is way out there in the west portal.

    (4)
  • Todd F.

This place makes a strong thin crust pizza. My favorite so far is "The Portuguese" which comes with ham, black olives, onions, and linguica (not sure what that is, but I'd compare it to peperoni . . . only better). Having a good pizza delivery close to home is clutch!

    (5)
  • Hugh B.

There's no excuse for blathering on about a pizza place, so here's the quick skinny on Mozzarella Di Bufala: Pretty good pizza, not excellent, but pretty good nonetheless, with the cornmeal crust pizzas clearly the superior choice. Delivery times are usually faster than most, and the drivers are a notch above some of the other characters who've come to my door from other outfits. All in all, a safe bet when you want a decent pizza that will be delivered when they say it will be delivered.

    (4)
  • Tara M.

This is a fine delivery place. It's not the best pizza in the world, but it's not the worst, either, and it's my choice for a standard pie brought straight to my door. Never tried the Brazilian food. Are they still giving away and accepting slice magnets?

    (3)
  • Lisa H.

This is the best pizza I have ever had....whenever I am in the area, I always try to get a slice of cheese pizza for 2.00+ tax. I see the workers hand make the dough and the pizza is crisp and fluffy at the same time. I would recommend the ham and pineapple pizza, but, if you don't prefer that type of pizza, everything else is yummy too.

Much nicer location than the one on Fillmore. But what is up with the first thought that came into the brain....hummm 69 that MOZZARELLA...cheezy!!!!!!!! is it being dyslexic and lactose intolerant that does it to the brain?

OK pizza, seating area loud and too small, prices too high, service nice but often too spaced out to serve. Hailing from "back East" I've completely lowered my standards for pizza in order to survive in California. I don't know how it's possible to make sucky pizza, but Californians have managed to turn it into a high art form - lousy crusts, lame and minimal quantity of toppings, served with a price tag that makes one wish they'd just stayed home and ate cat food. There's only one pizza place I've eaten at in the Bay Area that deserves any praise - and unfortunately it's in the East Bay. Which brings in Di Bufala Pizzeria, which doesn't cost a bridge toll to sit down and eat. By California pizza standards it's "OK," but they seem to be very impressed with themselves and it ain't that great. Convenient if heading to the CineArts a few doors down, but the service is so flaky you really have to ride them in order to make sure you get served and the bill comes (and they take your $$$) otherwise you'll be seeing the midnight feature. If you like the Chucky Cheese experience (including kids flailing around and with a slightly better quality of pie) then this place will probably please you. There's a Round Table on the next block, and frankly the space, service and pie there are an improvement over Di Bufala Pizzeria.

When trying to have a quick dinner before a movie, why else would I be is West Portal, this is the place to go. The brazilian style steak with greens is like comfort food. This is coming from a guy who hates most green vegatables. The pizza is sub-par though and nothing special.

Brazilian Pizza, Authentic Brazilian Dishes & Italian dishes too! Since they've opened over ten years ago on West Portal, I have either dined-in or had it delivered. Today, I dined in and took the rest for the movie at 12:20 pm ("The Valet"). I had the small 10 inch mini (4 slices) ---$7.10 for cheese topping, but I had mushrooms, sausages and pepperoni added for $10.75. Next to Paradise Pizza (also in West Portal), they are the best on this side off the tunnel! Hot, fresh and crunchy in the right places. The house salad ($2.50 small, $4.00 large) consists of Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, kidney beans and house dressing. Service and ambience (newly decorated with an additional dining room) was cozy. They even feature Feijoada Completa from Rio de Janeiro (Black bean stew with fresh and smoked pork and beef served with Collard Greens, rice and farola (Toasted yucca flour)! "Bom Apetite"!!!!!!

  • Fresca T.

After convincing myself that yelpers couldn't be wrong about how good the pizza is, I decided to go ahead and try it out. The cornmeal crust was interesting but there is absolutely nothing special about the pizza here. In fact, I would've given this place one or two stars if I didn't order a brazilian dish on a whim. The brazilian food is what people should be coming here for. There is a dish with shrimp and fresh spinach and rice....delicious. Next time I come, I will avoid the pizza and head straight for the entrees.

    (3)
  • Erica K.

The pizza here is good and the staff is always friendly. I never really had a problem with it. They actually expanded the restaurant to next door and now there is much more seating room in it. I wouldn't say it's cozy but overall it's alright

pizza here is okay. didn't wow me but didn't hate it. i got the portuguese pizza. ham, sausages, olives, onions. although i wish i had experimented a bit more with their brazilian dishes on menu. waiters were cool and the place was tiny but cozy. probably will be back though for a quick bite to eat!

two large two topping pizza's, mozzarella cheese sticks, and a salad came out to $57!?! $65 including tip. a hawaiian pizza that came with green peppers? different i'll give them that but not worth the price, pizza's came with no parmesean or red chilli flakes too. at least the delivery driver was a cute brazillian girl.

The best pizza I ever had is too far away for delivery. Besides, this is California, not Italy. So, in the interim I choose Mozzarella di Bufala. They're reliable, tasty, and rewarding; every 10th pizza lands you a free one. Order out or in. They're good.

  • william l.

I have been familiar with this place since it first opened about 15 or more years ago. The last time I had their pizza, about 4 years ago and the now closed Fillmore Location I was still amazed at how good it still is. My dining companion felt the same. The best of the Bay Area!

we were in a rush so just ordered a caprese salad and a few slices. loved the salad and enjoyed the pizza. but the service was lacking. we had to wait 10 minutes to order and then didn't get our bill so had to ask for it on our way out.

What's going on? We have been very happy customers for awhile now. Note that we have collected more than 12 magnets. We have never eaten at the store - always have their pizza delivered. Yesterday, our pizza arrived hot, which is a nice sign. HOWEVER, it was truly sloppily made. The half veggie pizza side had the majority of olives on ONE SLICE. The meat half side was sparse in meat products. The half and half wasn't really half and half. The the split was indiscernible. To top it off, the toppings slid off the pizza immediately. The crust was mushy and soggy. Definitely not their finest moment. The house salad was skimpy - mostly lettuce leaves. I'll give them credit for past yumminess but it may be time to find another pizzeria that delivers. Is it because we decided to use our 10 magnets for $15 off?

Good pizza, poor delivery service. At 11:00 a.m. I ordered a pizza for delivery at 12:15 - said he had a delivery at 12:15 but could be there by 12:30. Great - my daughter and I were heading out to a movie and wanted lunch at home first ... at 1:00 the pizza was still not here. I called and was told: "Oh, he forgot the receipt and had to come back." Um ... totally lame excuse! No tip for the driver but the pizza was good and finally arrived about 1:10.

a boy took me here last night. i had the vegetable lasagna. i have to say that i might be biased because i was really into him the entire time, but from what i remember about the food, it was really good. our waitress was really upbeat, even at 10PM. i would definitely head here for a nice relaxed dinner in west portal, or maybe order their pizza to go. but don't expect any real ambiance.

Divine! Divine, divine! I absolutely love this restaurant and the delicious food. Great service, delectable food. Good wine. Their delivery service is prompt and food is always just as fresh as it is when you eat at the restaurant. Favorite: Spaghetti with Fresh Clams. Absolutely mouth watering. Flavorful, and a large amount of clams/mussels. Definitely recommend :)

Thin crust pizza tastes great. Not too salty like some pizzas. Service was very good . Just a little on the pricey side but the rent on this street must be really high so I didn't mind a few extra dollars.

After a night of too much fun, my roommate and I were in need of some delicious pizza. We stumbled upon this little gem. It's tiny but cute. There weren't any other diners at the time so we were well taken care of. We ordered two pizzas to-go and waited about 20 minutes. I ordered a traditional pepperoni and my roommate got a pesto and mushroom pizza. I liked mine although it wasn't anything to write home about. It was actually better the next day for lunch.

This review is only about the service. I think the pizza is fine for a regular pizzeria and good value for the money but perhaps not 5-star good. My girlfriend and I were the victims of a screw up when we came to pick up the pizza we ordered. The woman at the front was super apologetic. Gave us the pizza that remained from the screw up to eat while we waited, poured us two complementary glasses of wine and had our pizza remade while we waited but upgraded the pizza to a larger size. I'm sure they made no money on our business, but they probably didn't lose anything either. What they saved was a customer. Being treated like visiting royalty made the screw up easy to deal with and even a bit fun. They also got a five star review out of the deal.

Everything that I had ever tried on the menu has been amazing, especially the Brazilian menu. I usually get take out, but the few times I have dined in, the service has been great and the staff is very friendly.

First off, I've never eaten the pizza here so move on if thats what you're wondering about.... I'm a weirdo because unlike alot of Asian Americans, my top 3 favorite cuisines are: Puerto Rican, Brazilian and Italian. This place has one of the city's best kept secrets - their Brazilian menu. I know, there are a lot of pizza places out here that have a side Brazilian menu, but Mozzarella takes the cake...I mean they serve feijoada everyday, c'mon! Besides that amazing fact, everything is relatively authentic (my source being 2 Brazilian friends from Rio & São Paulo) and delicious. You get rice, beans, greens and farofa with your entree instead of being charged extra or being forced to do all you can eat...this may seem minute, but a lot of swanky "Brazilian" places try to scam on the simple staples of rice and beans that make the meal authentic. To those who may disagree on this being a good Brazilian place, this is not my top Brazilian place in the Bay, but my other top favorite is in Daly City and they only understand Portuguese - so I consider this my #1 easily accessible Brazilian place, yes you can say beef with onions instead of bide acebolado... Happy meat eating!

$16 for some noodles and 2 mediocre meatballs. This isnt perbacco. I always thought the pizza here was over priced but this just confirms how overpriced the whole menu is. Nowhere does the quality even come close to the price here. Do yourself a favor and walk down 2 blocks to paradise pizza.

My boyfriend and I ordered from here several times. The pizza is really good, AND they don't give us a hard time when asking for half with no cheese (as my boyfriend has a dairy allergy.) The last time we ordered from there, the pizza came full of cheese. (Normally not a complaint but my bf couldn't even share this LARGE pizza with me!) I called back and spoke to a young woman who was pretty rude. She made me feel like I was an idiot for expressing the screwed up order. She said "Well, did you want a new one? (why is she questioning this? of course I want a new pizza, half of this cant even be enjoyed!) I said "Of course I would like a new pizza, thank you......." She then told me it would be FREE OF CHARGE. As we were finishing up the details, she ended with "So, make sure to give your old pizza back to the delivery guy............................................" Um...so the new pizza wasn't really free of charge? Why do you want the old pizza back, you screwed it up? Anyway, was a turned off by her attitude and this seemingly free pizza but not really. I haven't ordered from them again. You know, sometimes it really doesn't matter how good the food is. It takes ONE time for someone to be an ass and it just totally turns you off from the place.

We tried this pizzeria because I had a craving for pizza. We placed our order online which was a little difficult because the site is not very user-friendly. In any event, my partner ordered a 12-inch Canadian bacon-mushroom-broccoli pie on a thin crust while I ordered a 12-inch clam & pesto pie on a cornmeal crust. Although the site said delivery would take 45 minutes, the pies did not arrive for about a hour. My partner was satisfied with his pie, but said it was cold. I was a little disappointed with mine. The main problem was that the crust was not crisp, probably because we were the last of several deliveries. I also thought the pie was skimpy on both pesto and calms. We agreed that it's probably better to eat at the restaurant than by delivery. Then we'll have a better sense of what this pizzeria can do.

Appetizer was the bruschetta and it was nothing special. I had the spaghetti with meatballs. The meatballs were good but the pasta was bland. The pizza looked like the better entree but I didn't try it. Overall the service was nothing special and too many places scored better for me to give it another try.

It was ok. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is nice. We ate: Pizza sub: The bread was good and the filling was ok- it needed more tomato sauce or maybe some sauce to dip the sandwich in. Slices of cheese pizza: Disappointing, I should have ordered a mini-pizza, this was reheated and had almost zero tomato sauce on it. The mozzarella cheese was good. Hearts of Palm salad: This salad had tons of heart of palm on it and the house dressing is tasty. Due to the plethora of other options, we won't be back.

I've never actually eaten at the restaurant, but taken out several times. Strangely, I think their Brazilian food is way better than their Italian food. The Frango a Brasileira, Feijoada Completa, and Xim Xim de Galinha are my favorites, but I've been happy with all of the Brazilian entrees I've tried. Their spaghetti with marinara sauce is fairly good, but their meatballs and kinda meh. Their eggplant parmigiana tastes okay, but I find it weirdly created. Strangely solid ricotta cheese in the middle, fresh tomato, and the eggplant doesn't seem to be breaded. Definitely not a favorite. There are better Italian places out there, but the Brazilian food is certainly worth going for.

Ordered a medium cheese here, the pie wasn't all that filling or flavorful but it was quick. Seating here is decent, considering the surrounding areas. The staff is polite but reserved. Good spot for a quick pizza.

This is a one star for their communication/service. I called to try and book a party of 25 for one of the rooms in the space and they said 'we don't take reservations for after 4pm". I'm like, not even for a party of that size - we are all just supposed to show up! Seems odd to me and the person on the phone could not really give me a clear answer.

Love their pizza & their pastas. But my favorite thing to get here is the Feijoada. OMG. You have to try this dish. I was introduced to it by my Brazilian co-worker. He would always get it when we had company lunches and EVERYONE would make fun of him because the stew is black and doesnt look that appetizing at first. Being the adventurous eater that I am, I decided to try it and so glad that I did. Feijoada is a black bean and pork/beef stew. DiBufala serves it with white rice, collard greens and yucca. So tasty! Damn, now Im getting a mad craving!

I was craving Brazilian food one day after class and my boyfriend told me about this place and I said I never knew this place had Brazilian food I just thought it was pasta and pizza, so we decided to go. When we go here the servers were talking among each other and we weren't sure if we were suppose to wait to be seated or to just find a seat ourselves, afterwards one of the servers came to us and sat us down. We were asked if we wanted anything to drink right when we sat down because at the time there wasn't too much people so we thought hmmm... service quick that's a plus but after she asked us what we wanted to drink which we both said water, it took her awhile to come back with our water until we looked at her. Which means she totally forgot about us! Then when she gave us our water she asked if we were ready to order, we said can we have about another 5 min, she didn't come back till 20 mins later like seriously... it doesn't take us that long! So that blew our thought of good service. My boyfriend helped me order Peixada a Moda da Casa: fillet of halibut w/bell peppers, onions and coconut milk in a light tomato sauce, topped with slices of boiled egg, and served with spinach and rice. He ordered Feijoada Completa: black bean stew and smoked meat of pork and beef, served with greens, rice and yucca flour. Both these entrees are DELICIOUS! for the Peixada a Moda da Casa the flavoring goes well with the spinach and rice the best test is when you mix everything together; however make sure you're hungry when you eat this dish or any Brazilian dish because they give a lot and sometimes your leftover may look like a whole entire meal again. I'm not sure about the Feijoada Completa because I only had a taste of it but I know the yucca flour goes well with the bean stew and the pork meat in it is like a sausage with a little bit of spiciness which I loved. Another downer besides the service was the fact that they seated this customer next to our table and that customer kept staring at our food and us even though we weren't looking at her we sensed it and could see in the corner of our eyes. We felt very uncomfortable wishing her food that she order would already come out. This place is a bit pricey compare to other places I've been to but I would recommend this place while you're in sf craving Brazilian food, other than that try outside the city.

Mateo and I were feeling some pizza and we so happen to have a $2 off coupon for Mozzarella Di Bufala so we gave it a try! It was so good!! We had pepperoni, sausage and mushroom! The delivery was quick and we were full and satisfied! Definitely my new favorite delivery place!

This place is one of my favorite restaurants!! Their pizza is amazing! I used to order it for lunch at least once a week. Their Brazilian dishes are more expensive, but totally worth it. It is some of the best food I have ever tasted. The staff is excellent. Some employees have been working there for a long time which leads me to believe the owner treats them well.

Just ordered online an Italian sausage sandwich, a small Caesar salad and 2 orange juices for about 26 dollars. Not only was my food half an hour late but there was a hair in my salad and the sandwich was cold and barely toasted. Also my orange juice was orangina which is not the same thing. I used to order from here all the time but this is definitely the last time.

Recently came here for a graduation dinner. The family booked the whole back room and a corner table near the emergency exit. When I first saw the menu, I was surprised to see Italian and Brazilian food. I still don't get it, but whatever. For starters, we ordered the Zucchini Sticks and Mozzarella Sticks. Both were pretty tasty. I liked that it came out nice and hot with a side of marinara sauce. Since the name of the place is referred to as a "Pizzeria," I figured it's best to try their pizzas. Our table ordered the large Di Bufala's (combo) and Hawaiian Pizza. I enjoyed the Di Bufala's more than the Hawaiian. Since it was thin crust, it wasn't as fulfilling like other pizzas, which I liked. I heard their pastas were good too, so I ordered the Spaghetti with Meatballs, which caught my eye off the menu first. That was really good too. Service was okay. Could have been better. Often, we had to flag the server down for water refills and extra utensils. Overall, a very satisfying meal. Hope to come back again some time.

While I was dining I was thinking how I'd give them 3 stars. An hour later, when I was in the bathroom with food poisoning, I revised that to 1 star. When deciding what to order, I glanced at the patrons next to me who had ordered pizza and decided that the crust was not up to my high standards. So I chose the meatball sandwich instead. The sandwich came with the most pathetic side salad I have ever seen. It was 6 (yes exactly 6, I counted!) 1-in x 2-in strips of romaine, 1 slice of tomato, a single brownish-colored and not fresh-looking kalamata olive, and some dressing. If only I had brought a camera! After the salad my expectations were pretty low, but surprisingly the sandwich was not bad. The center of the french bread was soft and soaked up the marinara sauce while the top was very nicely toasted. It was a good balance of meat, cheese, sauce, and bread, and the portions were reasonable $7.25. The only thing that could've been better was if the waiter had been better about refilling my water. (I'd been at the beach all day and needed hydration!) Too bad for the food poisoning because I would've been satisfied otherwise. I wonder what did it... the meat? the sketchy-looking olive? I guess we'll never find out.

This is a great place for getting together with friends and very roomy. We had a table of 5 and I was interested in checking out the Brazilian food because for one, I've never tried it and two, there were hardly any reviews on the Brazilian food. 3 of us ordered Brazilian dishes: I had the Moqueca de Camarao, prawns in coconut milk served with spinach and rice and it was delicious; two other friends had the Peixada a Moda da Casa, filet of halibut with a very flavorful light tomato sauce and the fish was moist; Xim Xim de Galinha, chicken pieces and okra sauteed in light saffron sauce which was moist and the meat fell off the bone. My other friends ordered a cheese pizza and it had a good balance of tomato sauce and cheese and chewy crust and linguini with clams which was good. I highly recommend trying the Brazilian dishes.

Excuse me while I samba to the music coming out of the online menu. Quick-quick-slow. Quick-quick-slow. I'm ready to challenge Kristi Yamaguchi. You want a piece o'me, sis-tuh? Bring it on! I have to say I was bummed when the owners decided to close their Fillmore location, or as they say on their site, they "merged" it with their West Portal location. Gee, that means it's closed, right? After all, they disappeared from my delivery.com list of favorites, dammit. Luckily, I live fairly close to the K-L-M Muni lines, so I can get to their West Portal location willy nilly. Don't you think people should start saying "willy nilly" again? I do like the favela-meets-farfalle concept behind this place. Melding Brazil and Italy into a hands-across-the-hemispheres restaurant menu seems like an inspired idea. Gee, if Golden Gate Pizza and India Cuisine can mix India and Italy together, why not? Fusion is a global thing, don't you know? But I have to admit I like the pizza here so much that I still have yet to try their classic Brazilian dishes like the feijoada and the moqueca. I particularly love the Italian House Special Pizza (see my photo), and so does Jamie W. It has artichoke hearts, sausage, fresh tomato slices and a nice kick with the pepperoncini. A medium - eight pieces - costs $20.90. The Large House Salad is a nice accompaniment for $4.30 (see my photo)...I like the cucumber slices and kidney beans with the creamy Italian dressing drizzled on top. Refills on the Diet Coke are a nice benefit. The space is a bit on the cramped side as conversational cross-ventilation is likely, but service is certainly efficient. Quick-quick-slow. Quick-quick-slow....I'm practicing. FOOD - 4 stars...one of the better pizzas in the city...outside of Little Star, of course AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...a tad dark and cramped in there...not a prime locale for a first date SERVICE - 4 stars...fast and punctual but why no samba moves? TOTAL - 4 stars...time to try some Brazilian ...but hot damn, I like that pizza

I love this pizza place. We usually do take outs from there. I order it and they have it ready for me in 30 mins. The latest thing they did for me was to create a heart shape on a pizza for my husband for our anniversary. It was sweet and the pizza in itself was delish! I always recommend this place!

I think many of these reviews are missing the boat... this is a great BRAZILIAN restaurant disguised within a mediocre Italian pizza joint. We were walking around the area after a Stern Grove concert and noticed this place, we were somewhat meh on pizza, but when we saw they had Brazilian food we were in like dirty shirts. We tried the following dishes, all of which were great: Feijoada Completa - black bean and meat stew with rice and collard greens. Moqueca de Peixe - halibut and hard boiled eggs in spiced coconut milk sauce with spinach rice Moqueca de Camarao - shrimps in a a spiced coconut sauce with spinach rice Xim Xim de Galinha - chicken with okra in saffron sauce with chicken-stock polenta and rice. Yum. Most of us weren't that hungry when we sat down, but everyone including the 90-lb waifs polished off their entire large plate. We ate in, so I can't comment on delivery times for these guys, but service to the table was punctual and friendly. The wine suggestions were also spot on. Prices were between $14 - 17 for the Brazilian entrees, which should easily serve for two meals if you're not that hungry. Skip the pizza and pasta next time yelpers, and go for the real food.

This review of mine should be read as particularly significant because though I have been a Yelp member for a little while, my experience with Mozzarella diBufala has resulted in my first comment on this site for any restaurant. It is my intent here to be somewhat long winded yet not too verbose, as I wish to maintain the attention of any fellow Yelper who may mead this drivel. [Aside: I just read in Jon Carroll's column that it is boastful to state that a person - in this case - ME - is a 4th generation San Franciscan . . . I don't care if it is boastful or not. I am. Further, I have resided IN THE SAME HOUSE since 1957 in The Sunset District. Further still: I eat a lot of pizza --- all delivered - so I know what I like . . . End of aside.] I received a sample menu and $4.00 off coupon in the ValPack that I get in my mailbox every month. The same envelope always carries plenty of coupons for discounts at several local pizza places. I hate to admit it but I am a (mostly satisfied) Round Table customer. I used to like Shakey's and Toto's too --- but those are other stories. When I called to make the order I got the impression that the female person I spoke to was not at the establishment --- that she was just answering the telephone for DiBufala as well as God knows how many other places as well. She answered the telephone by saying: "Mozzarella's." I said: "You mean "DiBufala's?" I explained that this was my first order from them and that I would be making a judgment based on this single experience as to whether or not I would be ordering again from them. I was most clear. English is my mother tongue. English appeared to be the natural language of the female to whom I was speaking. There was no language barrier. I explained that I wanted my pizza OVERCOOKED --- that it must be "black on the edges" --- that other pizza delivery restaurants with whom I had had a favorable experience had used the term "run through twice." Well, do I have to complete the rest of this review for the reader to catch my drift?

Delivery anyone? Me, and the boyfriend were starving, but were too lazy to get out of the house to get something to eat. So, I found this place through yelp (like how I find every other place I go to). We put our order through online, we ordered the cornmeal crust pan pizza with sausage, bell peppers, and mushrooms yum! In about 30 minutes the phone rang, and it was the delivery guy. I LOVE it when the food comes before you expect it to come. I also ordered the cheese ravioli in cream sauce, that was SO GOOD. The prices are pretty decent too, I think I found a new place to order pizza from, YAY, and pasta!

3.5 Stars + Accepts Credit Cards + Fresh + Comfortable Seats + Filling - Dark - Quiet Me and my girlfriends came here for lunch around last week. We normally like to take turns on who decides where to eat, and it was Phoebes turn to choose. We drove by West Portal and walked for a bit and she finally decide on wanted pizza so this is where we went. The interior was a bit dark and quiet. It felt as if we were put into the center of attention if we spoke too loud, so that was a bit awkward for us. Other than that, our server was cheerful and the seats were super comfortable. The three of us shared Fried Zucchini Sticks which came with marinara sauce and a medium French pizza which consists of the following toppings: Pesto Sauce, Chicken, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, and Garlic. The Fried Zucchini Sticks yelp.com/biz_photos/QHei… were nice and crispy. I guess this could be an option if you are craving something fried but on the "healthier" side hehe. The Frence pizza yelp.com/biz_photos/QHei… came hot and fresh from the oven. Portion size was just about right to feed the 3 of us. It had a pretty think crust though which none of us really enjoyed. The toppings however, were flavorful. I could probably just eat that alone and be satisfied lol Overall, I had an enjoyable experience here at Mozzarella Di Bufala Pizzeria. I will be back to try out their other gourmet pizzas on the menu.

I ordered pizza and a salad for delivery. It took a while, which is fine, but it was expensive for what I got, and the pizza arrived all tossed around and folded up on itself. It didn't taste very good either, and on the menu the caesar salad said it came with kalamata olives, and I got exactly one olive in my large salad. I wouldn't recommend it, and I won't try it again. PS I emailed the restaurant my concerns the night I got the delivery and never heard from them.

Great pizza. Heineken Dark. Consistently good. I've been to this place a couple times and have yet to be disappointed. Its a pizza joint that serves Brazilian food. Good stuff. On my most recent visit, I tried the Feijoada Completa (Black bean stew with fresh and smoked meats (pork and beef) served with collard greens, rice and farofa), and a shrimp and gorgonzola pizza on their olive oil cornmeal crust. Also went with a bottle of Heineken Dark, which I hardly ever see offered in a restaurant. The diniguan looking Feijoada was delicious. Super tender meat, well cooked beans. I couldn't place the flavor, but it tasted much like something I've had before, maybe at a caribbean restaurant. I still don't quite understand the farofa, but I love it. It is toasted yucca flour, but somehow it tastes just like crumbled chicharrones!! I wonder if its really much healthier. It tastes like fried fat. Mmm. The pizza was equally amazing. The olive oil cornmeal crust here is excellent, one of the best crusts I have ever had. It is very dense, but made thin to compensate for it. It is still very filling though. Its kinda like eating an unsweetened corn muffin with toppings. Wonderful. It's also interesting that all of the toppings are priced the same. There is no additional charge for fancier toppings, which is why I went for the shrimp/gorgonzola options for my pizza. Yes, they do go together. And they weren't skimpy on either topping. The prices are very reasonable. The Feijoada is around $15, and the medium cornmeal pizza was around $20. For some reason the medium is only $1.50 more than the small. Its a little on the pricey side for pizza, but its worth it. Its also heavy enough that it lasted me 3-4 meals. I'm not on this side of town very often, but if I am and I'm hungry, theres a good chance I'll opt out of trying something new to come back here.

I've come here a few times for a slice of pizza. First of all, the slices are HUGE (as they should be because it can get a little pricey especially if you add a bunch of toppings). My favorite thing there is the pesto pizza with bacon! Its sooo good and fresh! This place is great!

cute little pizza place in west portal shared the mozzarella salad with basil and tomato slices (a large and small for 5 ppl) shared a large pizza split half and half with italian and the one with linguica sausages. crust was okay, nothing spectacular. pizza was good. our server seemed to be having trouble hearing what we were saying. 2 of the 5 water cups leaked.

This has been a staple for my family throughout the years. Literally, we've been going here for at least 12 years. A couple favorites are the hawaiian/ sausage & pepperoni pizza, spaghetti bolognese, and meat lasagna. I think most people just come here for pizza, you should try the brazilian food though. Not only is it good, but during lunch time the prices are not too bad. Their steak and chicken are amazing, try: Bife Acebolado (steak) or Churrasco Grelhado (grilled chicken or beef). It comes with beans, fries, and rice usually. You can always substitute things too. For dessert, you have to get the Profiterol Cup which is basically chocolate & cream which covers a cream puff. Service is friendly and the atmosphere has a good vibe.

Let me break it down for you: 5 star customer service if you dine in. 4 star pizza ... my fave is the pesto topping (red sauce, then cheese, then pesto on top ... mmmmm... yum!) 2 star price ... I always end up spending $70 on 2 pizzas 2 star wait time ... I live literally 2 blocks away and the wait time is always quoted in the 45 minutes or longer - ALWAYS. The pizza is delicious and the actual place is open late if you want a slice. We usually end up getting slices and then heading over to Joxers (bar) across the street.

Two tries, two strikes. There will be no chance for a third. Two months ago I placed an order for delivery and they got it wrong. When I called and asked to have the charge to my credit card adjusted, the guy on the phone asked if he could just give me a credit. I responded that might not work because, since the order was incorrect, there may not be a chance to use the credit. The guy on the phone persisted. After arguing with him I said, "Forget about it. I just won't order from your restaurant again" and hung up. To his credit, the manager called me right back and adjusted the charge, apologizing for the mishap. Because of that, I decided to give them a second chance last night. And once again the order was incorrect. On the plus side, they adjusted the bill right away; on the negative side, my sandwich tasted rancid and I spent the entire night with a belly that feels horrible. Sorry Mozzerella di Buffula....never again.

Pretty tasty food. I love the Brazilian dishes in special the " Moqueca de peixe" and "churrasco grelhado". I ordered their pizza couple of times and wasn't disappointed at all, I really liked the " French pizza". The service I agree sometimes takes long to have your food but they are very cordial and polite people.

I had a meal ordered in for me from Mozzarella Di Bufala and wasn't too impressed. I got a couple of their Brazilian dishes and they underwhelmed me. I got the frango a brasileira and feijoada vegetariana with a side of collard greens and white rice. The chicken in the frango a brasileira was nice and tender and the sauce over the rice was good but the feijoada left a lot to be desired. Worst of all, the collard greens were still pretty crisp and not at all cooked down---I'm not familiar with traditional Brazilian food so I didn't know if that's how it's supposed to be. All I know is I didn't like it.

When I want pizza I generally order out for delivery to my home. In one such instance, I requested a thin crust pizza with ranch dressing instead of the regular sauce along with artichoke hearts. I have had this courtesy given to me at all places but this one wouldn't do it. I didn't find them very accommodating at all. This place charges above average prices for their pizzas, at least they could make the pizzas they way the customer wants it. Also I don't like having a delivery charge tacked on to the bill. Nobody does this.

This review is based on their delivery services -- So, we placed a delivery order via phone and we were very clear and simple with our order. Medium Di Bufala's Pizza Special and a small smoked chicken caesar salad. The guy on the other end kept chanting"okay. okay okay." So, with that said and done .. when the food arrives, the medium pizza arrived as ordered, but the salad was missing the chicken. However, we were still charged for the chicken caesar. Hmm, I won't lie though, the pizza was light and delicious. The toppings on the pizza were really fresh and baked to perfection. The caesar salad had plenty of parmesen cheese and mozzarella cheese.

Love the chicken and eggplant parm sandwich and the spinach, tomato, bacon salad. Def my go to's every time I order. Speedy delivery, just a solid spot all around. Not a huge fan of the pizza but it's serviceable.

I just had dinner here it was really good. A vegetarian pizza. Sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese and spinach. The price wasn't too bad for a small about 18 dollars. The thing that i didn't like was that they said me pizza was only going to take 15 minutes to make and it really took like 30 and when it was done I wasn't told so, someone who worked there saw me sitting and finally asked if I had been helped. If you are getting a pizza to go like I did be sure you are ready to sit on a weird bunch in the way where people are moving past you the whole time. But all things aside I would totally eat here again.

parking is difficult because its right near the movie theater. my friends and their families love to rave about this place. I'VE NEVER felt that same way. Its just pretty good to me. Its got lots of selections other than just pizza...and the smell is outstanding. in my case, i felt the pizza was very salty. in fact, i ordered something else, salty. but you know what? i was really really hungry so maybe it was because of that.

Pizza and Brazilian food = AWESOME Friendly staff. Great selection of food. And if you order enough pizzas to go (collect their lovely magnets), you can earn a free one. Shamefully, we love it so much we're really getting close. Brazillian food: grilled steak with fries, rice, and greens. Delish! Handy tip from the waitress: Always order your meat a little rarer than you want and it'll come out perfect.

Been coming here for about 15 years now. For the most part I only really get the pizza and salads, but the other night i tried some of the Brazilian food that they have. In fact, they have an extensive menu of Brazilian food, and i got the Feiajuado, kind of a porky stew with Portuguese sausages over rice and greens. Very good and hearty. The pizza is great too...light on the sauce though if that is something you're into. I have no doubt in my mind that I'll be coming back to this place for another 20 years....

Ordered their small-size Smoked Chicken Caesar Salad for takeout and it was quite filling with pulled/shredded pieces of smoked chicken tossed in fresh-cut romaine lettuce, grated parmesan cheese and not-so-toasted-but-chewy garlic croutons that tasted like it was lightly coated in some cheese. The caesar dressing was light and adequate but it could use some anchovies for more flavor. The order also came with a garlic parmesan breadstick.

I just came in here for the first time in a few years. It's the first time I went and didn't have pizza. Still good though, and I got this thing called "PIC NIC" instead of garlic bread. They're kind of like little pizza breads. I'd get them again. The spaghetti sauce is hella good-- nearly as good as Grandma's! (Don't tell her that though.)

Excellent pizza!!! We went here after my sister's first half-marathon to celebration her feat. It was just me and her and three of my daughters and WOW were we impressed. We were a little surprised by the prices of the pies on the menu but as soon as it came out we instantly knew we had made a good choice. Folks, this is one of the best pizzas I've ever had! We enjoyed a Di Bufala's Special and it was absolutely perfect: hand made and formed dough (as a free-form bread baker I know!), light on the sauce but just enough to keep the pizza moist and delicious, the perfect amount of cheese, meat and veggies on each slice...this is how pizza is meant to be made!!!! Hats off to MDB for a fantastic pie!!!!!

My boyfriend and I are regulars at Mozzarella Di Bufala (West Portal is our neighborhood), and each dine-in has been a pleasant experience. The wait staff is very friendly and since we always eat there, they always have our preferred spot available (next to the window). They often make wine recommendations with our respective food order (along with a taste test of each recommendation). They are spot on. The pizza is to die for. Cornmeal crust is super yummy. Though I'm no Italian to judge, their other dishes taste authentic.

I have eaten here 4 times now and have tried something different every time. Everything I have had (pizza, pasta and Brazilian food) has been delicious! And their service is super friendly and attentive. I also really like/respect that their manager/owner responds to almost all of the Yelp reviews, whether bad or good. That doesn't happen very often. Looking forward to my next visit!

Their pizza is ALWAYS burnt. This is one of the few places you can get decent buffalo wings, though. They're huge and the sauce is great, but the wings themselves are a bit soggy (at least when delivered).

Had a cornmeal crust pizza here. Really good, dense crust, nicely crispy but not dry. Toppings were good, service was good. I'll definitely try some other items on the menu. Give them a go.

They make a damn fine pie and I don't think you need to know much more than that.

    (4)
  • Fara M.

Friendly staff and attentive service. Pizza had such delicious flavor, but the crust was a bit too dense for me. The topping options were impressive. My 10"pizza with three toppings was $16. It took a while to get to the table. I had cheesecake for dessert and it was way overpriced. $4 for a half frozen piece of cheesecake - yuck. I've been spoiled by Tony's and Delfina Pizzeria, so this place in comparison was ok. Still a better option than Papa John's!

i LOVE pizza. and i love it even more when it's buy one, get one free! (mon-thurs, 5-8pm) we've consistently ordered the French. i'm a sucker for pesto, garlic, and chicken. the pizza crust is nice and thin here, that i could order just a pizza margherita - tasty, without all the nonsense. girls dinner also included an order of chicken wings and 3 rounds of Peroni. delicious. service is excellent here. the staff are really attentive and quick. i really appreciate it when a restaurant is so patient with you, especially when you have small children with you. my nephew dropped a couple of things (dry and wet) and they never flinched or gave a hint of annoyance. it all just makes the dining experience that much better. my sister and i always tell each other we want to order some brazilian food next time, but the pizza always wins. next time. i'm sure of it.

I ordered delivery through Grubhub at 5:47, and was quoted that my food would arrive by 6:47, it didn't get here until 7:20. Regardless of the fact that I waited over an hour and a half for two small pizzas, it was still very delicious. I got the sweet strawberry pizza and the ricotta combo with no bacon, sub bell peppers. That shit was delicious. If you like pizzas with light sauce, more toppings, this is your place. I don't think I'll ever order delivery from here again because it took so long, but if I find myself in West Portal I'll definitely drop by for dinner.

  • Eric M.

It used to be a good value. But coming back it was a disappointment. The nearly $9 large Greek salad was smallish for a large and it was drowned in dressing. Garlic toast for $3.50 gets you maybe a dollar worth of toasted bread with barely an essence of garlic and hint of oil. The corn crust pizza was too oily and droopy. Their namesake mozzarella meanwhile had little flavor. One cheese pizza, a salad and garlic bread...$36+ with tip.

Want pizza during late night? This place is perfect for you. This pizzeria has a great large seating area and the service is extremely friendly and attentive. The pizza itself is great! We ordered 2 large pizzas, one with pesto chicken and the other a combination. It was enough to serve 10 people and we all agreed this was a great place to either grab a slice to go or to sit down for a quick bite. The quality of the pizzas are very tasty and dependable and I would definitely come back again

Delivery takes forever, workers are rude, the food is bland. Go to the restaurant, was that a rat? Or a giant cockroach? I've known more than 2 people who have gotten food poisoning from this place. The only good thing about it is the beer... oh wait I can get that for 1/3 of the price next door.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Tired of ordering from the same place, we decided to try something new. So I suggested this place. Which I thought was not too far from park Merced, and had been recommended to me countless times. We ordered a large pizza over the phone, the gal was super jaded and unfriendly. I chopped that up to her having a bad day and thought nothing of it. But an hour and fifteen minutes later, I still had no pizza in my mouth. We called, automated answering service answered right way. I was on hold for another 15 minutes. Now, being a former pizza joint employee, I understand what it's like to be busy and tired and upset. But to not politely put your paying customer on hold just sucks. Also, to not have any contact with your drivers is no bueno! Finally, when I got to talk to someone, I was rudely told that it should be there shortly. The girl seemed annoyed. I was only calling to check, not piss you off. Apparently the driver couldnt find my place, so she took it upon herself to walk around the neighborhood and not once call me or the restaurant. I asked the girl over the phone to have the driver call me once there. The pizza was alright because we were starving. It was pricey and cold. We weren't given a discount. Cold pizza should equal a discount. Never again will I call this place for delivery. I hate yelping, but goddamn.

Back in the day, they had two places: one in pac heights and another pizza-only place in the western addition. I'd call on my way home and they'd walk it to my apartment as I showed up. Phenomenal. Spectacular for a pizza connoisseur. I've had 1,000's of pizzas from 100's of places. They are at the top of the list. That they no longer deliver to my neighborhood makes me want to move.

Given that I live in East Jezus, these are my go-to folks for delivery pizza. And, to be honest, I've sworn by them for years. But, somewhere along the line, they've lost their way. One time out of three lately, the order is wrong or just plain bad. Last time, only half of the order showed up. The driver had to go back to the restaurant because the second half was still sitting there. When much time had passed, I called the restaurant. The guy who answered said there would be a 45 minute wait. 'What?! But I already PAID the driver and it's supposed to have already been made,' I yelped. 'Oh yeah. Well, I guess he must be on his way back to your place now.' Silence. 'Um,' I say to the phone guy, 'would you like to apologize for the inconvenience at least?' 'Oh, right,' says he, but no apology is forthcoming. I hang up and ponder if I'm ever going to purchase the remaining five orders to get my free pizza...and wonder if I got down on my knees and begged, if Marcello's or Goat Hill would deliver out here...

I just love the cornmeal crust pizza! And the fact that you can put any type of toppings on it! Like cheese, garlic or whatever! It's the cornmeal crust! I'm telling you...the cornmeal crust...my FAVE! Crispy and delicious! Maybe it's because I love corn bread but it was really good. I remember the pasta being extremely lame, but hey, the cornmeal pizza crust was ballin'. And apparently they have delicious food...wait what?

This restaurant is fantastic! I've never had a bad experience here, and the company I usually bring, enjoys it as well! Technology wise, this restaurant is on top of it! You can order online, have it delivered/picked up. Quite amazing! Some dishes I tried here: Fettuccine Carbonara, Spaghetti Frutti di Mare, Italian Sausage Sandwich, Pizza Sub, and multiple pizza dishes. I must say, everything is fantastic. If you aren't in the neighborhood, COME BY, you won't regret it. The indoor seating in the past was small, but they bought out their neighbor and converted the space into more seating. Service and customer service is great! Parking may be a little troublesome for dinner, but not impossible.

Ordering out is never about getting the best restaurant food, but certainly is convenient. Mozzarella Di Bufala Pizzeria changes the game a bit. We ordered last night and were amazed at the food. Did not have pizza but the pasta was great, meatballs tasty and my partner's Brazilian dish was a knock out.

A gentleman named Tukka kindly took our order...a large New York style pineapple and half sausage for about 20 bucks...accepted amex... arrived about 35 minutes later hot...but not piping hot...delivered in a non-flimsy white cardboard conventional delivery box. The pizza was a solid beer adjuvant...doughy, not too greasy, not too salty, lots of crusty crust..mutant feature in that the topping/cheese layer was barely attached to the dough aspect....this caused toppings to slide around alot...with that same sensation as when your pda or iphone's touchpad gets out of whack and needs to be reconfigured...tragic that there was no such reconfiguration protocol to stabilize the pie...thus, you are forced to use two hands or suffer gravity's rainbow. Each order comes with a tiny fridge magnetic shaped like a pie slice...if you collect 10 of these 'slices' then you get $15 off a pizza...but they work so well holding bemusing new yorker cartoons to the fridge including a new yorker cartoon that is about the use of pizza slice fridge magnets to hold up new yorker cartoons. Good coupons found printed on the menu that comes with the pizza....delivery person did not ask us to produce any of said coupons that we had cited when we ordered. This is really not a pie for foodies, but gets the basic job done.

I've only been here a couple of times, and those were years ago. I just remember the commercials and how catchy they were! lol The pizza is decent, not the greatest in the area, but legit. Great creamy cheese! Way better choice than the Round Table down the street. The moz is legit to the max, great cheese you can taste even after the melting!

THIS PLACE SUCKS!! DO NOT SPEND A DIME HERE!! I ordered a steak dinner to be delivered from this place, through Delivery.com .. An hour later I phoned the restaurant to see what was up. They claimed they received the order "only" 35 minutes ago, a delay that has never happened before with any of my hundreds of Delivery.com orders. OK, fine. Another 30 minutes later, my luke warm meal shows up. I felt sorry for the delivery woman, who had no fault in her employer's foul service. I don't tip for bad service, especially when a $1.75 delivery fee has been tacked on to my bill. I asked her to inform her boss that waiting 1 1/2 hours for food cuts into the tips. If I had been able to taste the meal at the door, I would have refused to pay entirely. The "medium rare" steak was well done, full of gristle, and tough as leather. It was like eating steak jerky. If you want good food delivered, look elsewhere. If, however, you wish to wait an hour and a half for awful food, by all means give this place a shot.

the frango is delicious, and I will applaud any business that serves their meals with a separate little bowl just for the bones. yay! my friend (who is goth) ordered garlic bread and seemed pleased. another friend (another goth) got a veggie sandwich and also appeared content. this girl at our table (also a friend) with feather earrings had salad and pizza; she then added nearly half-a-shaker-full of red pepper to her meal...if that says anything about her food... maybe it's personal preference? maybe it's because she's not goth? at least she pretends she's not anyway. our server had daggers in her eyes every time she came to our table. my friends, being goth, normally would have liked these daggers, but instead just gave them a bad vibe. the mascara that ran down their faces stained my shirt as they wept on my shoulder as we left. I hope they're okay :/

I have been going here for years but hadn't been in a while until tonight. The place has expanded as they added one room about seven years back and now have added a third room. It has a clean appearance for the most part. The service is pretty good too; they make it fast and it is perfectly warm. I also enjoyed a caeser salad tonight that was tasty but i could taste the anchovie paste a little to much for my liking. My mother also hates anchovies and said she did not taste the same. I feel that I am also unfair to be rating a pizza restaurant because I recently was in New Jersey and New York and had some fantastic pizza! This place is good the taste just wasn't what it was back there but hey what can you expect. Also the four also comes from the breadsticks, which were complimentary but not the best things I have ever tasted.

I've been going here for years and watched the restaurant grow from a tiny space to a pretty large restaurant. The Brazilian dishes and the Italian dishes are good for the price. Is it as good as North Beach's finest? Of course not. But I never feel let down here. For the record, I can personally say I have never ever gotten food poisoning here nor have I seen a rat or a coachroach. I do know that the staff is friendly and I always leave happy that I came.

Had a slice of pizza there, and it was okay but kind of pricey. Additional toppings can add up. Had an amazing brazilian dish there before, but couldn't remember the name ever since. Tried other brazilian dishes, hoping they were the one, but they weren't. And they weren't that good. Maybe they took it off the menu? :-(( Now, i usually just get the spaghetti with meatballs. Hard to screw that up. It's okay, given the price. Staff is friendly and attentive.

I haven't eaten here after they closed their other location. I wish they'd open up more locations. I really enjoy their Hearts of Palm salad. My husband's favorite is their grilled New York state brazil Ian dish that comes with garlic, beans, collard greens and rice. It's delicious!

I went there because although it is a pizzeria is also has TRUE Brazilian food. I had one "bife acebolado" and my friend had a "feijoada". 1 word about the orders: AMAZING! It is not a fancy place, however if you want to try genuine Brazilian for I highly recommend going there. "Bom apetite"!

I went here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. I was really excited to see a Brasillian restaurant that didn't have a downtown price. When I got to the restaurant & looked at the menu, I ended up deciding I'd rather have a Calzone because I wasn't sure what Brasillian food I wanted to taste that day--mostly because what I was craving (Pão de Queijo & Feijoada) wasn't on the menu, or at least I couldn't spot it on the menu. The service was spotty. The server seemed as if he was new, or maybe just having an off day. He would skip right over us, even though we were right at a door & he took a really long time to get my drink--he actually thought me and my friend ordered the same thing, so he brought out two soda's even though she only ordered a water. The food took a while to come out. But when it did, it was really good. We ordered dessert (cheesecake) but it was still frozen when we got it. It made for an interesting adventure eating it. The atmosphere was nice. It's a very date night kind of place. But it is also family friendly. Overall, the experience was just "ok." I want to go back to see if the service is better with a different server, or if that's just how it is all the time. But I honestly won't go out of my way to go back either. Take a look at the menu before you decide, and if you want to go, I'd say try it.

Love love love this place! Always my go-to when I have a friend in town. I've been here countless times and each one has been a great experience. I once brought my father here for dinner, who is known for being picky with food, and he absolutely loved it! He even asked to speak to a manager to tell them how good it was. Now for the food- The mix of Italian and Brazilian cuisine is great; it gives so many options that everyone can be satisfied. Favorite menu items: bruschetta (I always order this!), mozzarella e pomodoro insalata, lasagna (to die for), and the Brazilian Moqueca de Peixe. The Guarana soda used to be my ultimate fave drink here! But... - 1 star for recently changing the Guarana soda from the original and best, to some cheaper not so good version (due to problems importing the original)...it's like comparing Coca-Cola to a cheap, blech off-brand. Stick to wine until they get the original back : )

I've been coming here since they opened probably about 15 years ago. Their pizza is good used to be better. Stick with the brazilian food. They have expanded into a space next door so there is more seating now. The Feijoada Completa is a black bean stew with pork and sausage is to die for. It comes with rice, farofa (toasted yucca flour), and garlicky collard greens, that are cut in long strips and just barely cooked. You can't go wrong with what is the national dish of brazil. The Frango a Brazileira is chicken pieces sauteed in a saffron dark beer sauce with peppers, onions, tomatoes, rice & spinach. It is a good sized dinner. The pieces of chicken might be small to some. This is a favorite of the bf. Bife alho e Oleo is a grilled new york steak with roasted garlic. It is served with red beans, rice, and the yummy collard greens. This is my son's favorite. He is a carnivore through and through and he loves garlic. We usually get some kind of large salad to start the dinner and we are easily quite full when we leave. There is lots of good pizza in the city. Come here for the brazilian food. It wouldn't be a cheap eat, dishes are about $15 but it won't break the bank for a weekend dinner.

I only came like 3 times when I lived in SF. I have to say its by far the best Italian food Ive had. The bruschettas are delicious and they have this clams dish that is absolutely perfect. I havent found a place down here in LA that can compare to this one, plus their prices are reasonable. Next time I am in Sf I definitely have to come back here. The service was also excellent.

My bf and I stumbled at this pizzeria last night after a hard workout at the gym. You can imagine we were starving! We order the French with is chicken, pesto & red peppers, yum! We waited about 20mins for our order, which wasn't too bad. The place is small, but the menu sounds awesome. We definitely want to come back here, so we can sit in and check out. They have this special, mon-thurs from 5-8pm, you buy one pizza & get a 2nd free! but sit-in only. it's open till 11 mon-thurs and 12am on fridays.

Pizza was okay- I much prefer thinner and crispier as opposed to their slight thought thicker crust. That being said I did finish my entire pizza, The Italian( hot peppers, sausage, and black olives-which I despise, but my roomie wanted them!) service was friendly slightly distracted since it was a downtime hour that came in at. Pro- 3:30-5 in any restaurant don't expect the best of anything unless it's happy hour. I definitely would make a return trip but like Escape from New York a bit better. Also offers a nice Brazilian selection which will be my second visit back!

Took me a year to finally try this place out. So when someone said they wanted to grab dinner here, i was actually looking forward to it. Im a little bit of a pizza snob, extremely picky about my crust, sauce, and all that jazz, so new places are a treat, but i come in on the fence. Happy to say that i wasnt disappointed with Mozzarella Di Bufala. Because im notorious for ordering a lot and never finishing, i was forced to share. Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare was good with plenty of seafood, Greco Pizza was really good and the mozzarella sticks were, well, mozzarella sticks, you cant really mess those up. Ive been on this fried cheese hype lately which is weirding me out. I liked that i could order other stuff besides pizza and that this place wont break your wallet. I'll definitely come back here again.

God, I hate bad pizza! Have lived in the neighborhood for 7 years now and haven't tried Mozzarellla Di Bufala Pizzeria. Since we've been getting coupons in the mail lately, we decided to go for it tonight. What a mistake!! I called to have a pizza delivered. Wanted a pizza with cornmeal crust. I was informed in a rather curt manner that they were "too busy tonight" and weren't making cornmeal crust pizzas. I thought that sucked. Should have backed out then. Ordered a large Italian pizza instead. Was informed that it would take 1 hour for delivery. Really?!? We only live 6 blocks away. The pizza arrived 45 minutes after calling. Just by the looks of it, I knew we were in trouble. There were hardly any ingredients compared to other pizzerias like Pasquales and North Beach Pizza. The crust was soggy and tasteless. The sausage tasted like something you'd get on a frozen pizza you buy in the grocery store. The sauce was also flavorless. We each took a bite, looked at each other and said, "now we know why they put out so many coupons." Next pizza we'll order will be with our tried and true Pasquales on Irving and 8th.

After spending $50 and an hour and a half waiting for my delivery of Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare, (shell clams, mussels, prawns, fish and baby clams in white wine marinara sauce and fresh italian herbs) and a Large French Pizza (pesto sauce, chicken, sun-dried tomatoes and garlic) then giving them a call to see whats the hold up....it finally came..what a disappointment......bummed really. I chose to use the FREE garlic bread coupon instead of the $2 off coupon, bad choice! (i will be throwing the rest of the coupons away now...) Garlic bread was cold and tough pizza was so bland..and chicken was dry. Ive had a better version of this at Extreme Pizza the pasta was okay, couldve had more pasta. For this price, i couldve 3 XL delicious pizzas and 2 premade pastas plus left- over money for drinks and desserts from costco.

What's better than a bowl of hearty goodness and a slice of pizza together. Nothing. Sometimes I have a taste for Feijoada (black bean stew), and there are a few restaurants that serve it on the weekends, not during the week. Feijoada is a everyday entree on the menu here. Is it the best I've had? Probably not, but it's decent. The feijoada comes in a large bowl, more than I need to being eating. Along with that I had a large house salad which was good. And no review would be complete without trying the pizza being that this is a pizzeria, so I ordered a slice to go. The pizza is decent as well. Service was excellent. Very clean and nice set up in the restaurant.

"We deliver fast and hot" It's right on the box. But I just waited 70+ minuets for a totally cold $33 pizza! And now I'm gonig to have to wait another 20 minuets to warm in the oven! I'm sorry I tipped the delivery guy. Two stars for having good pizza before, when I lived farther away. And it came faster and hot. I don't know I may give them one more chance to redeem themselves. So tried again, got on time and fast! Hope they can keep it up!!

Delicious. This place is delicious. We ordered a half cheese half french pizza (sun dried tomatoes, pesto sauce, feta, spinach, and garlic). The cheese tasted like a margherita pizza from a high end Italian restaurant. Not to mention, the waitress who helped us was really cute and very sweet. Go here! do itttt!!

we decided to try a new place close to home, and we ended it up with this place: i am going straight to the point, if you want a heavy, tasteless, expensive pizza, try this place!!! not going back again, it's not worth it!

The chicken eggplant parmigiana is absolutely fantastic. Good portion that was worth the price. But the soup on the other hand, while also delicious, was overpriced. Hence the four stars. Service was a bit slow because the place was really busy. The waitstaff was really accommodating though.

Great pizza and staff. I'm generally not a soda lover due to the HFCS content, but their imported sodas are a different story. Like Mexican Coke, the Brazilian soda, Guarana, was AWESOME! Why, oh why America for tainting our bodies with processed ingredients?

After having an underwhelming meal at their former Fillmore outpost about 15 years ago, I was a little wary. But a visiting friend loved it. So we tried, a few months ago. Being of patient midwestern stock, I didn't squawk when my lunch failed to arrive the same time as everyone else's. But it eventually turned out the waitress had totally forgotten to place my order. She was mortified, handled it professionally, giving me a different, quicker entree for free. Dared to try MdB again just recently and experienced exceedingly gracious service and delicious food. I had something Brazilian that I think translates to House-style Fish, which was spicy and delicious and seemed to get even better as I ate it. The slices of hard-boiled eggs were a weird but not unpleasant touch. This stewy concotion went perfectly with the rice and spinach mix that it came with. Darling Dearie got a pizza which she purposely and knowlingly polluted with anchovies. But it was otherwise tasty, and she loved it. The waitress with the short spiked-up hair who showed us to our table could not have been more welcoming, friendly, upbeat and gracious. Fun evening. (This time the only thing I could knock would be the horrible paintings on the wall, which looked like they had been painted by a color-blind 8th grader, what with their sea-foam green olive trees...)

I ordered the spaghetti bolognese a while back. My pasta tasted bland and the cheese tasted like plastic. Well, I've never eaten plastic before, but I'd imagine that is what it tastes like.. The pizza sucks. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and it looked terrible - 2 pieces of lame looking pepperoni thrown on crappy pizza dough with some plastic-tasting cheese. The name of this restaurant is Mozzarella Di Bufala Pizzeria? What does that even mean? Mozzarella from a buffalo's pizza? Well, lucky yelper, you're about to get an Italian langugage lesson from a Chinese girl. It means.. buffalo mozzarella (fresh cheese from cow buffalo's milk): well unless that means that that cheese made from cow buffalo's milk tastes like plastic, then maybe I don't like cheese made from cow buffalo's milk. And I thought a cow was a cow and a buffalo was a buffalo? What the hello is a cow buffalo? Sorry, but my inner Jessica Simpson doesn't get this. Either way, you can't screw up pizza especially if the word Pizzeria is in your name.

Although we live in the neighborhood we rarely order in but this last Sunday evening we decided to order a pizza from this restaurant. The delivery was quick, but then all went down hill. It is possibly the worst pizza we have ever encountered, thin crust yes, but no flavor whatsoever, the toppings were so sparse we had to put on glasses to see if there were any. Ordered the Mexican with hamburger (less than 1 oz), little cheese and a few peppers, I hear this is how restaurants having economic strife deal with the problem, cut back on the ingredients, pizza costs very little in ingredients, you would think they could put so on. We will never order from here again.

When I am taking my girlfriend to get some dinner, even something as casual as a slice of pizza, I would like to take her somewhere that isn't going to be seedy or unpleasant. We decided to get a quick bite at West Portal, and made a call in to Mozzarella for two slices. The employee took our order and said it would be ready in ten minutes, so we got some coffee in the meantime. Ten minutes later, we show up expecting our order to be ready, no such luck. We hang around for another fifteen minutes, still no food. I finally ask the cook what the hold up is, and they managed to "forget" to even prepare one of the slices. A few rude comments from one of the delivery guys and more time passes, and we FINALLY get our food. I had no idea that it takes over twenty-five minutes to prepare two (mediocre, at best) slices of pizza. I am not even full, and my girlfriend is mad at me for picking this place. Bad choice.

Long time customer BEFORE they even expanded their current location. In fact they were pretty much delivery then. Apparently they keep a history in their computer of everything you order (delivery). A few months ago we ordered, they failed to tell us the price (we should've asked too) and when they got there charged $38 for a 3 topping large. We sent it back, I called yesterday to order again and apparently from this event they have black balled us. Consider them the soup nazi's of pizza! Actually insulted they treat their customers in this manner. We live in SF, so, plenty of great pizzas out there.

I will NEVER order from this place again. It's not because the pizza does not taste good...it really does, I'll give them that. It's because of the shoddy customer service that I'm NEVER going back. I started ordering from this place again only recently and the first few times were fine. However, this last time, it was an absolute NIGHTMARE! So I ordered a pizza and some mozzarella sticks, provided my credit card number, and starting watching tv. I ended up checking my phone a little later and had received a call from the restaurant. Basically their computer froze and they needed my cc number again. So I called them back and VERIFIED that my credit card should NOT have been charged and then gave them the number again. *Hang up...back to watching TV.* Time passes and I am getting hungry...while wondering where the pizza is, I check my phone again...lo and behold another call! The card would not go through so I had to call AGAIN. I provided the number again and it was just hanging...and then I gave it AGAIN and Kiran, one of the managers, told me it did not go through and if I could give them another card number. So I did and the transaction went through...I did end up getting my pizza BUT it was LUKEWARM! I didn't spend THIRTY bucks so that I could microwave my "HOT AND FAST DELIVERY" pizza and mozzarella sticks. I had some frozen pizzas in the fridge if I wanted to microwave something. Oh and the best thing is that the transaction DID go through, so I was charged TWICE! And when I called today, the Manager who I spoke to started off not even listening to me...until I told her that the transaction had already POSTED! So right now I'm waiting for my refund...so to summarize my LOOONG story... BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE LONG DELIVERY COLD PIZZA CHARGED MY CC'S TWICE NEVER NEVER going to you again!

After a day of debating as to whether or not I should trust the reviews on here/Eat24hours, I decided to take a risk and try this place out...what swung my decision was the fact that they offered deep dish pizza and I was out of Patxi's delivery zone... I placed my order at 7:30 and they were good about delivering within the hour...HOWEVER (and this is a HUGE however)... They got my pizza wrong...not once...but TWICE! As soon as I brought the box inside and opened my FIRST pizza, I discovered a meaty, NY style pizza as opposed to my vegetarian Chicago style cornmeal crust pan pizza. Okay, it happens. So I called them up and guess someone else who had had the same issue was on hold because a girl picked up and said "so we got your pizza wrong?" Freaky, right? But as she started to read the address on the order to figure out what went wrong and correct the situation, I realized someone else had also gotten their order fudged up. After we sorted that out, she said they would bring me my pizza right away. Within 30 minutes (props on the quickness), someone shows up with my pizza, which I open only to discover it's ALSO a New York pizza and the toppings looking NOTHING like the picture on their website (though they are what I ordered)!!! There are maybe 5 tiny pieces of eggplant (as well as less than generous portions of everything else) despite the fact that their photos lead you to believe they actually put yummy, large, juicy slices of eggplant on! UGH. And seriously, the whole reason I ordered from here was because of the PAN CORNMEAL CHICAGO STYLE CRUST! Double UGH. No, triple UGH!!! And then I bite in...the pizza is soggy in the middle, so a third of each slice is just wet...like when you let a sandwich sit a little too long...yuck! I spent 40 dollars on this, a salad, and some zucchini sticks (the salad was the only good part, and the zucchini sticks were way overdone...though they did give me more than the 8 they say comes with the order, so, thanks?...with watery marinara sauce). 40. dollars. for this?! I don't think so. So 15 minutes later I get a call telling me I'm getting what sounded like 15% or so off my next order...Are you kidding me? I should've gotten something when my pizza was messed up the first time. By the second time, I feel that it's too little too late. I would rather have gotten some of my money refunded. I might try to call them back and do that because I'm almost wholly unsatisfied to the point that a discount next time will do me no good as there will be no next time. Perhaps their Brazilian food is better..or perhaps this is the type of restaurant you actually have to BE at to get the quality stuff. I don't think I'm going to try either approach. They are WAY too expensive for the quality and service!!!

The food is amazing. Service is superb! They not only make incredible pizza but a range of other Brazilian and Italian dishes. You have to try the Brazilian soda! This is a family-oriented establishment that fits in very nicely with the scene on West Portal Avenue. The menu is extensive and I have never had anything disappointing on it. Everything I ate there is amazing. The place is owned by a family and you can tell from the attention they give every customer.

Good service, decent pizza. Worth a try if you're in West Portal. There's plenty of options to choose from their menu. I ordered the Di Bufala pizza in the largest size and it was around $40 with tax for 10 slices. The flavor was decent, but it wasn't anything special I would be craving. There was a lot of run off liquid(not oil or sauce) coming from the pizza. It could just be from the vegetables, but I think it could have been made better so as to avoid a soggy pizza. Interior decor is clean with a lot of seating. Staff was attentive.

Mozzarella Di Bufala has gone through a few management changes over the years since I first started coming here (back in '95). This would be the spot my buddies and I would hit up after school before going home to our respective neighborhoods via West Portal Muni tunnel. Pizza here has always been top notch delicious. Thin ciabatta style crust with a heaping of fresh ingredients. Seasonality of ingredients could use a bit of work though, however, this is just my two cents. Recently, I noticed this place has a Brazillian food section. Well hello there new menu items! Of the times I've been coming here for their awesome pizza, my friends and I decided to try their Brazilian options. I s h i t you not, it was as tasty as their pizzas. If you're not used to eating or loathe the game flavor of lamb or goat, you may as well pass on the Brazilian options here. Definitely coming back in the near future.

Ordered through Grub Hub. SM Pepperoni Pizza and meatball sandwich. Frozen pizzas have better flavor and dough. Meatball was a sad, sad, sad excuse for a meatball. Bread not toasted, hardly any sauce, lettuce and tomato (wtf???), and lastly...like two 1.5 inch meatballs cut in 1/2 and used for a 6inch roll??? More meat ball, more sauce, put some provolone on top, lay sub on foil, bake in oven until bread toasted and cheese bubblin' = meatball!!! You lost our business.

Ordered the Churrasco today and as a Brazilian living in the US for 15 yrs, never had such bad " Brazilian food" . It was pretty much a piece of steak they threw on the grill: no seasoning, no salt, no TASTE. Even the rice and beans, completely tasteless. I know how hard it is to reproduce what we have at home, our food is very rich and I dont expect the real deal when getting Brazilian food overseas, but what I got today can def give our cuisine a bad name to those who never experienced the real thing, I just had to saute the steak myself at home before eating it.

Maybe I got the wrong thing, but I also had the problem of a sopping wet New York-style pizza. I had to blot the thing with paper towels before I ate it, and all the toppings slid right off as I tried to put a slice on a plate. $35 with tip, too. I usually give restaurants a second chance - everybody has a bad night once in a while - but I think these folks are just trying to do too much by having such a massive menu and you can see how tiny and crowded their kitchen is through their windows on the sidewalk. I've seen small kitchens do amazing things, despite my reservations, but having experienced this fail I don't have confidence in them getting much right. Never again.

My review is based on to-go and delivery orders, and not dining in. My recommendation here is to try the New York style pizza, which is more of a four star. You can also order pizza by the slice. They have great pizza crust, tasty sauce (and not too much) and fresh ingredients. Overall, I've tried other items on their menu and the zucchini sticks, mozzarella sticks, and carbonara were a-ok, and will likely not order those items again. I'm a big carbonara fan in general and wasn't too keen on the fact that they use ham instead of pancetta or bacon, and a parmesan cheese sauce rather than just the egg. I will say they have good customer service and timely delivery if you live in the area.

This place is crap!!! We tried making reservations for tonight days ago and was told they don't take reservations for Friday or Saturday nights, but just show up because they're usually not that busy. So we did & the 1st thing they said when we showed up, "Do you have reservations?" When we told them what they had told us, the girl said, "oh yeah, that's right." So basically, even they don't know what their policies are. What a bunch of STUPID MORONS. If they're that stupid in front of customers, Just imagine how stupid their kitchen staff would be. I wouldn't eat anywhere that's staffed by stupid, idiotic morons.

  • Marc P.

The food is amazing but they close whenever they feel like it. So the posted time for closing is meaningless. I suggest when you build such a high quality business in the community for such a while that it's important to keep your hours if you want the community to continue to support you. I realize we have lots of people moving to SF but it's the owners' decision here. I hope they read this because I've been going here since it opened in the 1990s and like the owners but I think success has changed their approach to serving the community that has been so loyal and critical to its success.

Ordered a simple cheese pizza, the dough was flavorless, dry and the pizza had barely any sauce or cheese on it, so definitely not ordering again. Delivery was fast though. I haven't tried the food but judging by the pizza I won't take my chances.

A staple on West Portal and quite good. If you are a pizza lover, you should try here. Their specialty pizza are unique and delicious. I've had take out, dined in and went invited for a party in their "private" room. Get cheesy folks and try their mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers! Oh and their house salad is pretty good too!

Hot lunch buffet M-F 11-2pm only $9.95, but drinks were additional charge. I rather enjoyed this buffet. It was fabulous! I loved it. It's only for a short while so I would recommend coming right at 11am so you taste the food when it's freshly made. When I went, I was able to try the meat ravioli and the fried tilapia. I liked the fried tilapia the best. It tasted fresh. I also had the minestrone soup which was packed with vegetables. There were two types of salad: lettuce with blue cheese & cucumber & tomato salad. I tried the cucumber salad and it also tasted really good. I found the rice and beans to be slightly out of place. I didn't get to try them though, but I'm sure they would've tasted very good. This buffet was not what I was expecting from a pizza and pasta place. There wasn't pizza, which I thought there would be. Also, the buffet items change on a daily basis. I also felt the servers were very attentive & I was able to find a really nice spot by the window-- there weren't many people at the buffet so there were plenty of seats. I would recommend trying this place out for the buffet if you haven't already.

This place continues to do well. Probably mentioned it before, but worth mentioning again--chicken eggplant parmigiana sandwich is costly but you'll get bang for your buck. Huge breaded chicken breast, eggplant, topped with marinara sauce and hot melted cheese. Can't go wrong. Been eating this one for at least 14 years. Their Brazilian dishes are impressive, and I just started trying them. (I only knew about their pizza, sandwiches--for shame!) I love the Xim Xim dish! I'm not even a fan of polenta but I look forward to eating theirs. The chicken dish is full of flavor, and the okra is a delicious addition. Oh, and their breadsticks--is there crack in there?! They're piping hot, doughy, slightly crunchy outside, and full of delicious garlic and other spices! They come with their pasta entrees, but you can always order more. I sometimes ask for marinara sauce too!! I've gone in during college years but these days, it's delivery all the way! Still great!!!! Prices are moderate but the food holds up!

I always order delivery from them through yelp and they are super fast! They always tell my my order will arrive in 45-60 minutes but they always come within thirty minutes. I don't know if i'm lucky or they are super speedy, either way, i do highly recommend them for delivery. They never disappoint! Also, their fries are never soggy which is of course, a plus!!

So, here is how not to conduct business: After enjoying years of collecting magnets for free orders after 12 paid deliveries of Brazilian food. At my last order, I called the restaurant back to check on why I didn't receive a magnet, as they didn't send it along with my food. The customer service person said that the policy is to only send magnets for customers that spent $.07 cents more than my total order. I asked if prices or policies had changed, as I've been receiving the magnets for years, enjoyed the "loyalty" program, and have generated a lot of business to them. She said that the policy was always in place and someone was probably making a mistake "for years", but she didn't want to get in trouble with her manager. Not sure if losing a loyal customer constitutes a problem for them, but I'll never buy any food from this place again. I rarely write reviews here on Yelp, but I think this one is warranted. Lesson learned: Stay away from businesses with bad customer service, narrow mind, and sneaky pricing structure.

Pizza here is amazin, and a decent wine selection too. The have Brazillian food!!! which I will be sampling on my next visit. Decent service and delivery, although be warned this pizza is pricier than most, but also more gourmet than most.

My girlfriend and I are super grateful that there's a place in this area that actually understands how to make a NY style thin crust after we moved here from Buffalo. This place is top two along side Sophia's for pizza. The Brazilian food has been hit or miss for me. The few times I've ordered it the meats were missing essential seasonings and entree compositions were lacking in all the ways that makes Brazilian food explode with unique combinations and flavors. That being said, we like their pizza enough to give them 4 stars!

First of all, this is only for pizza delivery. This place is more like a 3.5 but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since they've been pretty dependable so far. The pizza is decent, not the greatest, but also not bad. I usually order through eat24 so I can use their daily 2 dollar off coupons. Delivery thus far has always been spot on and within the estimated time period. Delivery folks always come to my front door, which is nice. I live in kind of a hard to find place, and many other delivery places simply call me when they're in the vicinity and I go outside to meet them, so props for that (i'm looking at you paxti's). Now for the pizza. I usually get the regular crust, which is pretty thin for a regular crust. Soft but with some bit to it. Toppings always seem fresh and taste good. One large pizza with 2-3 toppings will usually take care of dinner for my girlfriend and I it may feed 3 people who really aren't that hungry. The food here won't blow you away, but it's reliably good with reliable delivery service, which is a lot more impressive than it sounds for a pizza place in SF (again I'm looking at you paxti's).

Sadly my issues with in restaurant service continue. I don't think I'll stop by anymore, so just the occasional take out - maybe. I came last Friday and although the server was very personable, they apparently had a shift switch, but didn't tell us. So at the end of the night, when we were ready to go, and our new waitress (which we didn't know was our new waitress) had a party of like 30 just sat and was busy with them, we went to the front to take care of the check. Our old waiter was still there, just sitting around waiting for a friend or something and so he got us our check. And we took it to the register, no big deal at all. Then someone else at the register is all "No, you can't take care of your check here, you have to give it to your waiter." Wow - ok, I've never seen "teamwork" like that before. So now I have to wait 15 min for our completely over burdened waiter who is running around like mad trying to take care of her huge party... and keeps coming up to me with a "one more minute" look on her face, until she goes... wait for it... TO THE REGISTER to make the change we need. Seriously? I worked in restaurants for 15 years as a waiter. I'd never have told a customer who's ready to pay, "Sorry I can't take your money... you have to give it to someone else". And if this is true, that the person AT THE REGISTER can't take money... when you need to wall that sh*t off and not let the customers see the register. This was totally piss poor service.

I've eaten here plenty of times and enjoyed the Brazilian dishes and sometimes their pizza, though we usually go elsewhere for pizza. However, on Memorial Day evening we needed something fast, so went with a cornmeal crust pizza with 3 toppings, one of those only on half. What I opened when I got home from taking it out was this horrible mess of a thing. Noticeably uneven cheese across the crust, not from holding it sideways or pulling 1G on a racetrack (walked it home keeping it straight), toppings were completely uneven spread as well, and the one topping that was to be on only half looked like someone aimed from atop a 10ft ladder. It was pathetic. Wish I had opened it before taking it home- I would have asked for another one. No thanks.

Pretty good mixture menu of Brazilian and Italian. Atmosphere, pretty nice and cozy but brightly lit so you can read your menu. Sadly we were seated next to the storage closet and the employees kept running in and out getting supplies. Service, the waitress was really nice. My friend tried to order a dish and didn't want to say the name because he didn't want to butcher the language. But she said be brave and try it. She told him how to say it and he tried. She came by at good intervals to check on us and was very personable. Food, I had the Italian mini pizza, it was really good. Surprisingly I loved the artichokes on the pizza more than anything else and I'm usually the one picking off sausage and eating them. It had a good kick to the pizza. I brought home two slices, and my father ate it and loved it. He usually doesn't comment on pizza at all. I think he would of enjoyed it if I brought home a bigger pizza though. He had to ask me if the 2nd piece was for my mother. I said yes. So he left it at that.

Before catching our flight from San Francisco back to Washington, DC we went here for some dinner. It took a while to be prepared so we ordered and then went back home to finish packing before Adam went to pick it up for us. I had a meatball sub which was good but not like, outrageously good. We also had garlic bread which was delish as carbs covered in fat and slathered with garlic usually are. It was a good meal pre-flight since I didn't feel overly full for the long plane ride.

I will give this place ONE star, just because I think their pizza is really good. Today I ordered pesto ravioli with a small caesar salad. Delivery = $19.05 I was thinking, this better be some good food if I'm paying $20. The person taking calls was being kind of rude, and sounded in a bad mood. They came in about 30-40 min. After I give the money, and the dude gives me the food, I notice he didn't give me any napkins or utensils. Maybe it's in the bag. No, there was no napkin, no fork, just containers of food and their bag. The small salad is REALLY small, the caesar dressing was SO ACID it felt like it was rotten. There was little slices of some kind of cheese, disgusting cheese. The ravioli was okay. Didn't have much flavor and I couldn't taste the meat... This place might be good for pizza, but please, don't buy the side orders! It's really obvious that they just slapped together something and overpriced it. If only I had known. What I bought I might have paid 8-10 bucks, never 20. But I learned my lesson

I've eaten here twice, once after a hike, and once in the middle of one (the Bay Area Ridge Trail goes right through West Portal). My take is that the lasagna and pasta dishes are decent but not amazing, but that the pizza (I ordered the Italian) and the feijoada completa (black bean stew) are great. Four stars and not three because of the warm, cozy interior; it's the perfect antidote to cold foggy days in western San Francisco.

You should bring a girl here if you want to continue leading her on, because it's cozy and romantic and she'll think you really like her oodles and boodles. Eventually, you'll decide to stop calling her because she demands things you can't give, like love or respect or conversations during daylight hours, but for now, time is as frozen as your heart. The servers will be nice to you and provide you with an opportunity to stop locking eyes with your ladyfriend in that oh-so charming deer-in-the-headlights way. You'll appear to be enjoying the food a little too much, but you're actually just trying to figure out a way to break up with the "nicest girl in the world." After you finish the bubbling hot eggplant parm, of course. The tiramisu you should order will be kind of bitter (like this review) and well-received by all (unlike this review). It's fitting that she develop a taste for desserts right now, since she'll soon be eating her feelings when you take the immature route and stop calling her because you're a jerk. At least rub your gut appreciatively when she picks up the bill. Later, she'll want to come back to this restaurant, but she won't be able to, because though it was inexpensive and cozy and fun, it will remind her of a guy just like you who sat across from her and repeatedly lied to her face. Happy Valentine's Day. xoxo, Janney.

If you want a unique pizza experience then this is the place to go. Not big by any standards, this is a small restaurant located in West Portal that serves good hot pizza. Their interior decor seems to be very cozy and no matter what the outside weather is like, coming inside always seems perfect. If you want to see how they work their magic you can go right up to their window and see them in action. I don't know about you but seeing this made me feel good. Just another unique thing they had to offer. Seeing a Brazilian pizza place is not something you see everyday but if your ever looking for one this is the place to go. Their pizza is simply amazing. Always hot and fresh I enjoy walking down the street and coming in for a nice meal. Add that to a super staff and you find yourself with an amazing experience. Fried cheese sticks, and their list of appetizers would make any person want to try this place out. Save yourself the trouble of looking for a good pizza joint. This is easily the place to go.

When you get delivery from the place -- preheat your oven to 350 degrees cause you'll have to heat it up. There are several things going for Mozzarella; 1. They will deliver until midnight; 2. They have delivery-women and that's just awesome! 3. They're relatively nice on the phone. The pizza however is not mentionable. I was born in New York City, so I'm getting used to the what Californian's call, "pizza" but this is just not cutting it. Even for Cali. Sorry, 2 Stars.

I was recently taken here for my friend's birthday party. I was on a diet so i had the chicken ceasar salad with no croutons and a side of olive oil instead of dressing. 5 of my friends shared 2 large pizzas that smelled and looked amazing and the other half of the table had pastas. The waiters were extra friendly and made sure that our glasses never went empty. When my salad arrived, they had forgotten to take out the croutons, but they were easily removed and my friends who ate them thought they were really delicious. This places is extremely cozy and nicely lit with a great atmosphere. Great for groups, we had 13 in our party and in the last section they had more. The place gets a little loud depending on how loud the large groups are, but that just adds to the character of the restaurant.

One night I stumbled in here because I was starving and it was all that was opened. Everyone was super friendly and I ordered whatever pizza my heart desired even though I was just getting a slice. A few minutes later it was ready and delicious... the only problem was that as I was walking back to Muni all of the cheese and veggies fell off, and long hold it had a entire new layer of just cheese pizza, they just thew some more cheese and veggies on it! lol wtf??????? My second experience here got worse. My boyfriend and I ordered takeout we ordered a ceaser salad, pasta, and garlic bread. It was all so mediocre the garlic bread being the worse, it was a tiny serving it was soggy and had no flavor ... all for 4 dollars? I felt ripped off. Not worth coming here again thats forsure.

First time ordered from MDBP, with my standard (pepperoni and mushroom) but added white onion for others, and it was really good! Though that might also be because I don't eat pizza as often anymore. Did the pickup since it's faster and the pizza stays hot, of course. Will return to see if the 4-stars is deserved.

Had an excellent pizza delivered last night. When I phoned in the order, I asked how long and how much. Arrived when they said it would and was reasonably priced. Definitely much better than my neighborhood pizza that delivered in NYC. I'm happy. PS Pay cash - it's easier for everyone involved.

Not so bad... but definitely could've been better. =/... I got the food to go and the people at the front were pretty nice. I did like the pizza, but it didn't have any significantly different flavor from ordinary Italian pizzas.

Would love to rate the food. My kid was to attend a party on a Friday night at this establishment and the party was turned away. Plenty of seats available but was turned away because they said that they could not serve this many kids (10). I got the feeling that they didn't want the kids because they weren't going to eat/drink that much. Nice way to build goodwill......Think I'll take my party to Milano's or Eagle.....

Ok, this place deserves a better review from me.. We eat Mozzarella Di Bufala about 3 times a month, and I always get something new... The Brazilian dishes are remarkable--- w/c may or may not be authentic, but it tastes so good that I always (ALWAYS) get the same thing w/ something new--- The regular pizzas (something like pepperoni and cheese) are ok--- Not something to go crazy raving about--- It's their specialty pizzas that make this place good... If you are not afraid to venture out and explore new combinations, then this place is for you... They have everything you can think of when it comes to toppings and their cornmeal crusts are just fantastic....And if you want to put a little twist on your pizza, make it a Calzone... and they come in all sizes.... Other stuff I've tried is the dibufala wings, w/c taste like normal buffalo wings--no reason to stand out... The salads on the other hand are so good--all of them are so I can't just point out one... The best one so far is the Spinach Bacon Salad... On the Brazilian side I tried all on the list, but still ALWAYS get Bife Alho e Oleo... It comes w/ breadsticks but those are not so good cold so you have to eat them right away, therefore getting you full before you really get to enjoy your food. Italian: umm... Eh--- It's ok, not the best but so far the Spaghetti w/ clams and the Chicken Marsala stand out pretty good... The spaghetti sauce needs to be a little thicker and the chicken needs to be less dry... Overall these two are my faves on this side of the menu...

Went here with a friend and she wasn't kidding when she said the corn meal pizza style was good. Pesto was used instead of tomato sauce which made it even tastier for. The staff were friendly which is always a plus for a restaurant. The only weird thing was that they were playing random background songs. Christmas stuff, Queen, Greensleeves, and Jazz.

I have my ten magnets now, I am ready for my free pizza. I like the interesting toppings. Brazilian ingredients and food can be found here. I get the delivery but they also have pizza by the slice. The Dubliner bar down the street likes to order pizza for the bar from here. I like it. I want some now!

I must say the staff at this restaurant was one of the most pleasant and friendliest I've seen in a while. The Capellini Pomodoro was excellent, and so was teh Fettuccini Carbonara. The Chicken pesta sauce pizza was also good.

One word: Feijoada. That's the reason I now love this place. I ordered and paid online, and they delivered on a saturday night in less than 45 minutes. The quality of the food was excellent. One order of feijoada serves two, easily. They have other brazilian dishes that I want to try, plus their pizzas are supposed to be good. But how can I even try any of that if they have feijoda!

I really enjoyed my meal here! We got a New York-style pizza and I must say, the crust was just as it should be. ;-) They have a great selection of toppings - everything you'd expect plus a few nice twists (i.e. Linguica instead of regular pepperoni), but no weird pretentious stuff. Next time I'll have to try the cornmeal crust...

Located in an unassuming part of town, West Portal's Mozzarella Di Bufala boasts mixed selection of homemade pizzas and delicious Brazilian dishes. The latter are really what I come here for, even though I see most people eating the huge, oven-roasted, piping hot pizzas. If you've grown up accustomed to eating slow-cooked, homemade meat dishes infused with some sort of alcohol, (usually chicken, beef or pork with beer or wine) spices, vegetables and a whole lotta Mama's LOVING...you'll be a happy little camper at Mozzarella Di Bufala. The mix of dark Brazilian beers with saffron and fennel spicing is TO DIE. The meat is always falling off the bone, eager to melt in your mouth. And even though the portions are HUGE, it is quite easy to finish your entire plate. I specifically recommend the following: Frango a Brasileira: mouthwatering chicken served in a dark beer saffron sauce cooked with carrots, peppers and onions. Served with rice and and fresh spinach (the spinach gets 5 stars for tasting quite fresh) Moqueca de Peixe: tender halibut served in a coconut milk sauce, cooked with peppers, onions, palm oil and a variety of other veggies... not over spiced like its rival Thai dishes. Served with rice and spinach. Basically. If you are needing a warm meal to bring you back to life after a hard weekend or set you up for a long Sunday night's rest, come here. Hell, the charming CineArt Cinema right next door makes a perfect squatting ground for food coma sufferers :-). You won't encounter any w-of-m bullshit or stuck up chefs here, only good Brazilian people that thrive off making its loyal clientele happy. I promise you'll be happy and satisfied, thinking that maybe only Mama could have cooked it better (that is if your mother can cook...and if she can't well...sucks for you).

I love this place because... It's open late, people there are so nice, they make you feel so comfortable. Their pizza is really good, and they have really good salads. My bf and I I went there around 11pm on valentines day to order food to go, I couldnt decide what I wanted but the guy there was really patient and relaxed even though I was like...uuuhhhh i dont know what I want.... We ended up getting Mexican/ pepperoni salami mushrooms (i forgot the name of it its on the first of the pizza menu) half and half, and hearts of palm salad. I really liked their mexican even though it was a little spicey hot with a lot of jalapenos. maybe I will ask for less jalapenos next time and it will just be perfecto. hearts of palm salad is really good, i had never had hearts of palm before, but it is almost like artichoke, i like it a lot. It's goona be a nice treat after getting off work late place for me from now on.

Good Brazilian style pizza! Yes they have Ketchup :) The service was great and pizza was delicious. This is definitely a place I will return to, they have so many choices I might have to break my pizza quota for the month. Life is rough...

If there were 2 1/2 stars I would give it that rating. Last night was the second I have been to this restaurant. Maybe it was seeing my daughter and spending time with her influenced this review? We had the fried zuchini to start and we wanted some ranch dressing along with the marinara sauce it had accompanied with-(restaurant charged us 50 cents for ranch dressing-did not disclose before we ordered!!! Zucchini was very lightly battered and batter was very tasy, but not over salty-was great without sauce, but nice with the Ranch. We created our own pizza-NY with four toppings-a little pricey. I told the waiter I really wanted thin crust and it was not as thin as it could have been. The pizza was very delicious. The table behind us had a glass of marinated piccadillo peppers. i put a few on the end of my pizza and my mouth was on fire, after I got used to it I quite enjoyed the pickled oiled teeny weenie peppers that packed a nice punch. I had a Reisling that was icky-wines by the glass6-8 dollars, not bad. Service was very slow. the place was packed, but we did not have our order taken for 15 minutes. Also, we were not checked on or offered refills. I would try it again when in area

#17 3.5 stars This, along with El Toreador across the street, are where my coworkers and I sometimes stop before heading off to Tuesday Trivia Night at Joxer Daly's. We end up ordering slices, heading over to the bar to grab seating, and then coming back pick up our food. I don't recall the exact pricing, but I think it starts at $2.50 (?), and then toppings are about $0.50 (?) each. I will generally order two slices - one with garlic (I love garlic) and one with chicken. Most of my friends will only order one slice and be full, but I like the variety. I cannot comment on the table service, but the cashiers who take the orders have always been pleasant. If you order slices, they take about 10-15 minutes. Be aware that if you are ordering slices later in the evening, they may run out. That happened to me a couple weeks ago, when I went back for a third slice (maybe I'm just greedy). The restaurant is about half a block from the West Portal MUNI station. Street parking is available (meters). All things considered, it is pretty good for pizza. However, I probably would not frequent this place unless I was already in the area.

I freakin LOVE their Chicken ceaser salad. If I'm craving one, I definitely hit up this place, cuz they deliver! It's pretty big, comes with a ton of shredded smoked chicken, a ton of parmesan cheese, really fresh romaine lettuce, and yummy croutons. They give you the dressing on the side, which is always nice if you're counting calories. And really, with this salad, there's so much in it, that you really don't need that much dressing. They also give you a bread twist on the side!

Good Italian for west portal.. but not a place I'd dine unless I didn't live right here. The bufala is good. The pizza is okay. I'm just not hat into it. Probably because I've been spoiled by Berretta, flour + water, and delfina.

Mozzarella di Bufala is actually my favorite pizza delivery spot in SF, and half the reason is their Brazilian food. I don't know much about the establishment, but here's some useful information about their food: 1. For Pizza, I recommend the topping combination of ground beef and ricotta. It's quality food. Dollops of ricotta across your slices, with ground beef chunks sprinkled throughout. I get it every time. 2. Their feijoada is excellent. The portions are big and the stew is extra stewy and it's the ultimate comfort food; I expect to be eating it a lot more as the winter starts. 3. I had the Peixada a Moda da Casa for the first time tonight. It was fantastic. Creamy and tasty and filling.

I have only had their pizza's. My favorite is their corn meal crust pizza with pesto, feta and spinach! YUM! But hubby likes their other specials, something with meat. They charge for delivery but if you tell them you have a coupon for a free 2 liter, its like the delivery is free. Plus if you order more than $15 you get a little magnet, collect enough of them and turn it in for a free pizza.

Death by noodles, dude. I was really craving something creamy so I ordered the fettucine del'orto (fettucine with veggies). It came piping hot with broccoli, carrots, squash and mushrooms. I guess I was expecting something more "Italian" than broccoli and carrots, but I actually don't mind because they were fresh and I like veggies anyway. I ate all of it. Service was pretty good too. The Brazilian food sounded really good from the menu but it's a bit pricier. I'll be back to try that sometime.

An interesting mix of Brazilian food and pizza. I'm never that impressed by the food here, it's just as expensive as Paradise (down the street) but not quite as good. It always feels hectic when you walk in due to their delivery service. Still, it's quiet once you walk in and the pizza is surprisingly decent in a city known for having awful pizza. Give it a shot.

Slow, over priced, mediocre, that sums up Di Bufala. I was in the mood for pizza a few nights ago and called this place. I was watching the Giants game at Portals, one block away and didnt want to pick up the pizza. They said it would be 45 to 60 minutes, and i said fine. 55 minutes later it arrived. No where on their menu does it say there is a $1.75 delivery charge. I asked for sausage, mushrooms and extra cheese. I got salami, mushrooms and if they called what they gave me extra cheese, then their basic pizza would not have any cheese on it. There is zero chance of me ordering from this place again.

Yum! I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I always thought it was just some little pizza place, and being that North Beach Pizza is my ultimate fave, I don't feel much hope when I go to other pizza places. However, I was soon disproved. We were seated for lunch at a table in the larger dining room, which is the next store front over. I immediately noticed the ceiling height, about 18-20 feet. And they are totally detailed too. Love that. This is not some little hole in the wall pizza place after all. On the menu, there was pizza, not too exciting, and then I saw the Brazilian dishes. BF tells me, the student who gave him the gift certificate we are using today (yep, I do love me some free food!) is half Italian and half Brazilian, and this is his parents' restaurant. I see two very interesting and very similar Brazilian dishes to try, and decide on "PEIXADA À MODA DA CASA" which is: Simmered filet of halibut with bell peppers, onions & coconut milk in a tomato sauce topped with slices of hard boiled eggs with spinach & rice. Wow, I am impressed with how delicious this is! The halibut is perfectly done, and so flavorful with everything that is cooked in to it. The coconut milk really goes well with all the vegetables and gives the dish a heartiness that would otherwise not be there. The spinach seems different than normal spinach, even better. I could definitely be back soon. My only gripe: we were seated at one of the smallest tables, right next to the doorway. Other customers were offered their choice of any booth seats they wanted, notably those who weren't Asian. Hmm....

$2.75 for a cheese slice. Tasty sauce, thin at the point and tapers to not so thin at the crust. Made fresh - good cheese, extremely yummy generous portions. A rare place where I would recommend their cheese pizza over their pesto. It's a full restaurant with many other dishes, beer and wine and very comfortable seating. Good service too.

Just ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese. It's awful. To top it off, with tip and $2 delivery charge it came to nearly $16. I'm Italian. My grandmother's sauce was like food from the gods. I don't expect anything else to live up to it BUT I know a good sauce when I taste one. This is an insult to Italian food. I will say, it's my fault for not reading the description more closely. It says, "Pedro's secret bolognese sauce". That's just all kinds of wrong. If I had read it more closely I probably wouldn't have even ordered it. Pedro? The only thing that makes sense here is that the bolognese sauce is spicy (in the menu it mentions nothing about being spicy) and more reminiscent of a Mexican dish. Hence being made by Pedro, I guess. It's got carrots and chives and stuff in it. My grandmother would put carrots in her sauce to pull the acids out of the tomato and then she'd throw them out before she served it. This is closer to salsa than spaghetti sauce. And let's face it, spaghetti with salsa sounds disgusting. Speaking of the spaghetti, it's gigantic and overcooked. On par with something you'd get at Denny's. I'm sure the pizza is great. I haven't tried it. A friend of mine suggested I get pasta from these guys. I'm gonna bust his friggin' head. ps - I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because they were fast and friendly.

They didn't give me my bay shrimp salad instead they gave me the Mozzarella& Pomodoro Salad Ummmm I didn't order that so they get only four........ The pizza was def worth it....this was the day when fluff and stuff ( :) ) and I went to Pizza Box...we do that sometimes Do a comparison...and ummmm this place was pretty good...I got the Mexican yummers with huge red bell peppers, Jalapenos, ground beef , green onions and frankenstuff had Hawaiian basic ham and pineapple........3 dollars a slice pretty good and they were almost as big as Pizza Box but not so extreme the crust was thim Yummers and hello people Italian Seasoning in their sauce...now that is saucy....I love when I can taste the seasoning in the pizza sauce it was perfectly cook not burned just cooked enough to where the crust was soft but the edges were crusty............ We came across this by chance going to Golden Gate park in the night with fog and drizzle but its okay we came across this wonderful place we won't forget it when we are in the city and we are starving for me that is all the time!!!!! They also have brazialian dishes didn't go that far since I only wanted pizza............ Thank You Pizzeria it was a pleasure to have your pizza dazzle my taste buds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! frankola said he liked it tooo!!!!!! And we like frankola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went once - was very impressed. Went again last night and I'm still impressed! Great service, awesome pizza, and okay prices. It's not cheap, but then again, it doesn't taste cheap either. I strongly recommend the olive oil and cornmeal crust pizzas. I'm fortunate because I live somewhat close by, but this place is definitely worth the trip out to West Portal! There's plenty of nearby parking, you can have dinner at Mozzarella Di Bufala, and then painfully waddle your now overstuffed body over to a number of great pubs/bars nearby for a drink. Now that's a fantastic evening that doesn't involve a couch, a rerun of Friends on TBS, and a lonely shot of whiskey, huh? Not that I'm one to judge, or anything.

They have the most amazing cornmeal crust I've ever had. I also love the chicken parmesan dish. I would've asked my waiter out if I could. He was super sweet and hot. They also have some Brazilian dishes that I haven't tried yet.

Shame on you guys for moving so far away! As if your previous location wasn't already far away to begin with! I would even go out of my way to come down to the Fillmore just to have your pizza, but no more! RIP to one of my favorite pizza spots in the city... :(

Third time there and still enjoy it. The ham being undercooked is why this place didn't get a fiver. Our waitress was great, but the busboy was a Dick. The crust is fantastic and the sauce was sweet and delicious. Would recommend.

I love their pasta, and my boyfriend loves the pizza and the brazilian dishes. I think they have the best Frutti Di Mare. They're not stingy on the seafood which is awesome, but I think the pasta (they use spaghetti) could be better. If they did it with angel hair or penne, then I wouldn't order anything else... Only downside is parking. However, we've been lucky enough to find parking within a one block radius, if not right in front. I can see it being a problem though. Oh, but on our last visit, which was like a week ago, I found an itty-bitty piece of glass in my water!!! It was actually IN MY MOUTH when I felt it. I thought it was rather odd to have something hard in the water because ice would've melted. We told the server and he apologized profusely and gave us 5% (oohh big whoop) for the meal. We weren't really looking for a discount, but we warned them to be careful because there may be other pieces around. That little incident still wouldn't stop me from going there though, because the food is just that good...

The food that I tried here this evening (house salad and an italian combo pizza) was wonderful. The salad was a great bargain, compared to most joints in San Francisco ... under $5 for a large that I could share with my dining companion. The pizza was also very good ... a nice mix of sausage, peppercini (spelling?), tomato, onion, cheese, and light sauce. Diet Coke ... apparently free refills as our server decided to leave another refill's worth in a pitcher at our table after he topped our drinks off (we do likes our DC). We walked in and got seated right away on a Sunday evening (close to 8pm). The folks who served us were great. One detraction ... what seems to be a trend in West Portal ... the interior did feel a little dated, and the salt and pepper shakers tops appeared as though someone tried to beat them to death with a ball ping hammer. Not necessarily a good spot for someone new, but a great spot for someone comfortable.

DELICIOUS DELICIOUS DELICIOUS! I was staying home alone in the Villas for a week (I went to CCSF my roomates went to SFSU, different spring breaks). My first night back I was not in the mood to cook, but I was starving. I passed by here a few times on alcohol runs to West Portal, and had a menu in the kitchen. I called for a delivery order (I really appreciate delivery services, I'm lazy about the Muni and the cold weather makes me lazier). -Cheese Ravioli : not too small, not too big, the sauce was delicious. -Chicken and Eggplant Sandwich: SO YUMMY!!! The chicken was so tender, the eggplant was perfect (I HATE when eggplant gets all chewy) Other times I've ordered to go, -Cheeze pizza (with various toppings) : almost perfect pizza -Meat Lasagna : again, delicious Complimentary breadsticks (or bread or some sort -i forget) were cool and I liked how everytime I would get a little pizza magnet (Collect how many and there was a little discount right?)

To add to my recent streak of writing reviews on Pizza places (i hear a list in the making), I'm gonna add this place, which i call di Bufala. Now, their pizza is equal to that of north beach. good crust, a copius amount of cheese to sauce ratio. The pizzas hit the spot. And they deliver too (but what kind of a pizza place wouldnt offer a delivery service?) But something new to write about are the foods that are not Pizza when you get to sit and dine in the place. I gotta say, for a restaurant in WP, they have a pretty spacious place. I've ordered different pastas and all of them were way above average. Their bread for an appetizer (its freee!) mixed with the Olive oil and Balsamic Vinegar definitely hits the spot for an appetizer (which my brother usually conveniently makes as his main course, yay for frugality!) di Bufala is already and outstanding pizzeria, but it is also a great place to dine and the ambiance always draws me in.

I'm not going to be that guy who degrades a business over it or anything, but I just had an unfavorable experience. Pizza and garlic bread were delivered with pretty standard wait time. The artichoke was soft and there were only a couple of spots on the pizza that had sun dried tomatoes. Crust is way too dry for it's size and the cheese was minimal/flavorless. Sriracha couldn't really save the garlic bread. With so many other places in the city that do a really good pie with a clear signature, I probably won't be willing to reevaluate this one. Remember, I'm just one guy talking about his one experience. They're clearly doing something right with so many fans. If I happen to be hungry when I'm standing next to it, I'll try something but pizza. Looks like an interesting menu outside of the pizza but again, there are just too many other places to check out!

Another little Brazilian pizzeria I used to grab a slice at. The pizza here is very good, I love the bread they use and the sauce. My favorites are pesto and mushroom, and the slices are a decent size, though not as cheap or tasty as Nizarios and sometimes you'll be waiting for a while. Parking is also hard, though I would get here via the M line.

Just went here tonight! Ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese...and as my appetizer mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were warm and not hot which was disappointing but the marinara sauce that came with it was awesome. At first bite when my entree came, I was not impressed but after a few bites I really enjoyed the flavor. I just needed to "get into" it. My bf ordered the pesto meat ravioli and he thought it was "eh". So because of the temperature of the mozzarella sticks I gave it one less star...sorry....I will definitely be back to try the pizza since people seem to like it!!!

This place always hits the spot for a quick snack or meal. Always get a pizza slice with various toppings since they make each slice individually. The slice is about the size of your plate. The toppings are very fresh with a light sprinkling of cheese. Let me say that again fresh, not canned veggies and toppings. Personally I did not care for their whole pizzas but their salads are also good. The wait staff is good but can be inconsistent at times. There is a small selection of bottled beers and wine. There are a couple of locations in SF. I only remember the West Portal and Fillmore ones but there may be another.

Changing my 2 star to 4 stars. Pizza grown on me and now really likes the moderately thin crust. Also the brazilian dishes are really good. Pasta dishes are also very good. We order from there about twice a month. A bit on the pricey side.

I usually wouldn't order delivery near their closing time but today was an exception. I really wanted some pizza and I called 6 min before closing time and was denied. If you plan to close when you feel like it, then don't bother putting hours of operation on the menu. It's false advertisment in my opinion. I'm hungover and bitter and this place is who I'm taking it on. I love the pizza here, but I'm bummed out cuz I couldn't get my way on a rainy day off. I have only had their pizza in the restaurant, but based on a lot of the negative reviews, delivery doesn't seem like a very good idea.

I absolutely adore this place! If your in the mood for something new and someplace so cute you'll die...come here! Its settled in the the cute little district of West Portal (i call is a magical place) where the food is kickin' and the waitress's/waiters are all smiles. I love the appetizers and the entree's..actually i love everything on the menu. I decided to try the brazilian dishes instead of getting pasta or pizza like everyone else. And let me just tell you...WOW! it was so good! My friend had the brazilian dish with beans...i was iffy about trying it, but after i took a bite from her plate i was blown away. Lunch or dinner at Mozzarella Di Bufala never fails me!

I love love love the pizza here. But I don't love their prices. Seems to be more expensive than other pizza joints of the same quality. This is my go to place for a pizza splurge, but not affordable enough to do every week. :(

My family used to order pizza from this place years ago. My brother and I would always have the epic battle on where our pizza would come from. I liked the cheesier pizzas, while he favored the thin and barely cheesed. This was one of my favorite places for awhile, but they started going down hill about 6 years ago. I haven't really ordered anything from there since, but I'm sure they still produce and acceptable pie.

Pizza is usually pizza. Unless of course we're talking about pizza in NY. I'd like to have said the pizza at Mozzarella Di Bufala was stand out but it's been too inconsistent to get that honor. Recently, we've tried the Italian and Brazilian food and were pleasantly surprised by both. We had the eggplant parm, Moqueca de Camarao, and a bottle of Chianti. The parm and the Chianti wasn't half bad, but the Moqueca de Camarao was flat out delicious. I can't wait to try out more of the Brazilian dishes.

Frango a Brasileira - This is one of the BEST chicken entrees I have ever had!! The chicken is cooked in a saffron dark beer sauce with peppers, onions and tomatoes. They serve it with sauteed spinach that is mixed in with white rice. It was a large plate of food and I ate it all! Too good not to. Can't comment on the pizza but their were plenty of people eating it and I smelled wonderful!

Pizza here is fast and of a consistent quality. I know that doesnt sound like such a big deal but I have noticed that places are getting skimpy on their toppings or they seem understaffed. My order is always right and on time. Its not the best pizza I have ever had but it is pretty good.

This review if for delivery only. Delivery time: long (maybe 1 hour or more) Food quality: 6 of 10 (average) Basically the delivery was long and the food was just really average. The food also came really cold - probably because it took so long to come here. I'd MAYBE order or go to this place again but it's not on the top of my list.

I went here for a simple pepperoni pizza with extra sauce (which helps prevent nasty dry leftovers) and ended up finishing the whole thing. The cheese is what got me here, as it seemed to be a hell of a lot better than a lot of other places and their sauce was really good. It did end up getting pretty messy w/ the extra sauce and oil seemingly everywhere... but if you don't like greasy food, then why eat at all? j/k This visit was enough to have the pizza enter my regular rotation of places to go during a fight/wii/blockbuster night.

Great ambience and customer service but the food lacks some character. Not bad at all but none of the taste really jumps at you.

Excellent local pizza joint, with the option of a unique corn meal crust. I've done take out from here and attended a ~20 person private party the pizza is quite yummy.

I came here last Sunday with a couple of friends when we came to West Portal to eat at El Toreador but came too early (opening time 2:30? WTF?) In fact, there were quite a few places closed in the afternoon on Sunday. Weird. We got a canadian bacon and chicken pizza and for the most part, it was pretty good. The only thing I can complain about was the stringy cheese and it being hard to take away from the plate and the rest of the pizza... but once the pizza cooled down, it was all right. I had a hard time rating this place because even though it was pretty good, I've had better. And it's no way better than Escape from New York... and I only gave that place 4 stars (mainly for the cash-only option and the neighborhood bums.) At least you can pay with your credit card here and there's no bums in West Portal (mainly because it's an area filled with well-off middle aged people and the kinda-snobby-but-not-snobby-enough-to-be-in-Marina people.) And I was debating to myself whether or not it was better than Senore's on 19th and Taraval or even North Beach Pizza. So yeah, this place is a definite high 3... not enough for me to round up, but I'd come back if I were in the neighborhood and craving pizza... and maybe then if I get another great pizza, I'll change my rating.

I ordered too much food and loved every minute of it. The salad- good, pizza- very good, mozzarella sticks- yum, and the capellini pomodoro was the best I've ever had. I'm going back! As for the service, it was a good experience, we just waited a bit to get the check. It happens.

Definitely on my top 10 list of pizza places in SF. I go there because they put mozzarella on top of the slice that I order. I like that it's a quick walk from the West Portal MUNI. It's mid-priced pizza, but they have a great little area to sit down. All the Brazilian are very friendly. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but if I am on this side of town I'll definitely visit. Plenty of street parking.

Actually shold be 3 1/2 stars, but oh well, no half stars allowed. We ordered the olive oil corn meal pizza with sausage, mushrooms, pepperoni and bell peppers. I actually really liked the pizza, especially the cornmeal crust. I know people have been writing that the pizza is greasy, but in general, pizza is a greasy dish and I didn't feel that their pizza was any more greasy than other restaurants' pizza's. Loved the olive oil and cornmeal crust, it was awesome! We also got the spicy chicken wings. Really tasty, not overly spicy, but definitely with a good solid kick to it. It's the b/f's new favorite! So, why the 3 stars? Well, we placed our order online and it said they would call to confirm, but they didn't. I ended up calling them 20 minutes after I placed the order and was told it will be here within 45 minutes from when I ordered it. So I'm thinking, cool, 25 more minutes...an hour later and with a very pissed off stomach, I call the restaurant again to find out where my food is. All they can tell me is that the delivery man had already left the restaurant and was on his way. No ETA, No ETD, nothing. An hour and forty minutes after I originally placed the order the food finally arrives. By this time, I've come to the conclusion that we won't be ordering from here again.... Once I tried the food, though, I changed my mind. As I said, the pizza and chicken wings were really good and I loved the cornmeal crust, plus, the food was still hot when it arrived (go figure). So, we'll either be ordering way in advance of meal time, or we'll get off our lazy buts and make the 5 minute drive to pick up the food.

The pizza is OK, fast friendly delivery, pretty consistent for the most part, nothing extraordinary, but a quality pie none the less. Put them in your rotation if you are a fan of delivery.

They got lunch specials but I missed it when I stopped in. So I ended up getting a Pep. slice for $2.75! Pizza was fresh but the bread was kinda rubbery and dry, could have used more sauce

Have now ordered from them more than a dozen times. No errors, fast delivery, host food, fresh ingredients. It's probably my preferred delivery place. I've had several pizzas, chicken and beef dishes, salads, appetizers and desserts. Everything has been great. I'm trying new things from the menu and so far have not been disappointed.

Mozzarella di Bufala could learn a thing or two from Roti about streetfront presentation. Every time I walked by, it just confused me. It almost looks like two different restaurants, one that does take-out and one that does sit-down, except you can't open the door to the sit-down one. The fact that they have two signs, neither of them eye-catching, doesn't help. And why can I see the entire goings-on of the kitchen from the street? That's probably why I never bothered to stop in here before, but with over 100 reviews, Di Bufala is clearly popular by West Portal standards, and besides, you can never have too close of a pizza place (and Round Table doesn't count). Interestingly, Di Bufala doubles as a brazilian restaurant, but we stuck to the pizza. At Yelp's advice we went with the cornmeal pan-style pizza, very filling and highly recommended. I don't think I've ever had a crust quite like it. A 14" with 3 toppings runs you about $19 and can definitely feed two, so...perhaps a tad pricey. Service is friendly though, and ambience isn't bad once you get into the back room. All in all, I'd say they live up to the title of reigning West Portal pizza place, despite their awkward appearance.

Glorious. This is what all small pizzarias should aspire to be. The food is delicious, and, though it isn't spacious, there are plenty of tables and no wait even on most weekends. They have a genuinely perplexing variety of food, everything from the obvious pizza to Brazillian food, all of which is surprisingly good, for reasonable prices. They have easy and fast takeout, too. It's moderately expensive, but worth it.

I guess it's preference but when I'm watching my weight a pizza would be the last thing you would think of eating. Well this place is just right for us. Ever have a greasy slice of pizza? Pizza so greasy and salty that you cough up some Ghostbusting ecto plasm from your throat? Well, after i have a slice from this place I feel satisfied. I also know that I won't be coughing up a melted glue stick after the meal. Pizza's light and thin with the right amount of sauceand our service was always kind, courteous and the combination of the art-deco style walls makes us feel like eating we're eating at home

I ate here before seeing the Harry Potter movie next door. I was quite pleased that the service was fast, and my order came quickly. I ordered bruschetta and a small "French" pizza (pesto, chicken, sundried tomatoes, garlic). The bruschetta was excellent, it was pretty reasonably priced (4-something) and was loaded with lots of tomatoes, yum. The pizza, however, tasted a little off. I didn't enjoy it as much as I normally enjoy pizza with pesto sauce in it. It gets kind of busy closer to dinner hour, it was a little difficult to get our servers' (or any server) attention.

The joint: Nicely decorated restaurant but it has a super small entry way that makes you feel crowded on the way in. The food: Fresh ingredients, non-greasy pizza and crispy crust The service: So courteous and professional. I wish our waitress taught others. Mom and Dad wanted to celebrate Dad's birthday at his favorite pizza place and invited me along. We've been here before and I've always had a positive experience but I finally decided to review it because of the awesome food and service. You see, I wasn't thrilled to hear that we were having pizza for dinner tonight. First, it's my dad's 60th birthday...not knocking pizza but I thought we could have done more for Dad! Second, I had greasy icky awful chinese takeout for lunch and didn't want greasy icky pizza for dinner further escalating the unsettled nature in my stomach. We ordered a large thin crust pizza that was half DiBufala and half Hawaiian and a medium cornmeal pizza with linguica, salami, garlic and olives. All of it was delicious!! The Di Bufala has got to be one of my all time fav pizzas. The crispy crust with the fresh ingredients instantly soothed my grumbly tummy into a purrrrr a happiness. I wish the Hawaiian pizza had a little more flavor to it. I found it a little bland... maybe a zestier suace?? The corneal pizza was a little soggy but again the fresh delicious ingredients made all the difference. That and my wish for a zestier sauce were the only things keeping this from being a 5. But seriously, their Di Bufala pizza literally stopped my grease induced tummy ache flat in it's tracks and inspired me to devour 3 slices!!! In fact, I'm gonna go have a piece of the left over pizza now. nom nom nom!!!!

Disappointing. I was soooo hungry for pizza. I ordered a large 3 topping pizza for delivery. It came to $24.26 before tip. It took a little over an hour to get here and I ordered really early, at 5:15. Anyway, when it got here it was barely warm. The crust was burned on the bottom and was chewy like it was microwaved or something. I ended up throwing the rest of it away and I do NOT throw leftovers away if there is even a small chance i might eat them later. To be fair I would like to add that this review is only based on delivery and I only tried it one time. I will not be trying pizza delivery again from them. I may eat in one day but won't eat their pizza.

Yeah yeah, their goat cheese special pizza is quality, but its really all about the Brazilian menu. I've tried just about every Brazilian entree they offer and nothing disappoints. Next time you're in the mood try the feijoada, the acebolado, the moqueca, the peixada and the clam spaghetti. The portions of the feijoada, this amazing black bean stew simmered with rib meat, sausages and ham hock? and the spaghetti are spot on. Usually we order the feijoada for that evening and a pasta dish as leftovers for the following day. The only thing that does disappoint is their delivery service. It takes at least an hour and twenty minutes to get your meal, but it always arrives hot so I guess it just takes them a while to brew it all to perfection. They should just make a notation of that on their menus rather than fronting like they were outside your building for twenty minutes and you just weren't answering your phone. Minus one star for that. If you eat there a fair amount they even give you these little magnets that add up to a discount on a future meal. Mozzarella Di Bufala is a hidden gem if you're not a service nazi and can hold it together for good delivery... this place is the shit.

I had dinner here with a small group tonight. Among four people, we had the Spaghetti Bologense (is that how you spell it?), Spaghetti Carbonara, Spaghetti Fresh Clams, and the Hawaiian Pizza. Each dish were really good. The Bologense doesn't look all that but the red sauce is pretty phenomenal. The Carbonara had fettuccine noodles with ham, peas, and cream sauce. It was pretty thick and gets you full pretty quickly. The Spaghetti Fresh Clams had regular noodles, red meat sauce, and clams. Great for seafood lovers. The Hawaiian Pizza had about 8 slices for a medium. The toppings were ham and pineapples (given) but also included green peppers. I like it when pizzerias have green peppers on their Hawaiians. Crispy and tasty crust! The menu also included soup, salads, and other stuff that was Italian with a Brazilian twist. The layout of the restaurant is a bit different as the floor is pretty narrow. However, they had very high ceilings which I liked. The place small enough for the waiters to check up on your table often. They refilled my water like 4 times. That makes me happy =) In the end, the bill came to about 60 bucks. Pretty average, right? I probably won't go back to the West Portal location since it is too far out and very cold. However, they have a Fillmore @ Geary location that I'll be sure to visit sometime soon.

"Solid" is the word that comes to mind. Solid menu, reliable quality and enough goopy cheese on the pizza slices to back up on you. we go here almost every tuesday night for a couple of years now, not because we love it but because it's the only place we all agree on. the Brazilian menu is pretty tasty but all in all I think it's lackluster. Service varies by whoever's on duty and they have a lot of turnover -- did I mention I've been going here for a couple of years? Jade is the current waitress and she treats us like royalty but last week she was on vacation and we got pwned by the sub. Their pasta is attractive and the at the same time run of the mill. They serve something called carbonara which is the California version and IMHO an abomination -- cream instead of eggs, ham instead of pancetta, adding peas because they know it looks like hell. I think they know they aren't doing anything special but serving the Avenues, they probably don't want to spook the clientele with anything out of the norm.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
